how to make chinese rider?

I am using the Chinese Civ, have horse and iron and have the tech neccesary to make knight but no rider? I wonder why this is happening. Since I have required resources and the technology, why can't I make rider....at this point I am stuck making knights. Please help.

Are these resources attached to your cities by road? Are they in your cultural borders???

Did you disable Civ Specific Units in the option menu when you started the game? If you can make knights you should be able to make riders, unless the CSU are not active.

both horse and iron are actual next to one of my city, so I did have the resource to make rider. I just don't know why I can only make knight. I don't think I turn off the civ specific unit option because I was under attack by Greece's hoplites before. That bastard Alexander almost kill me till I made humiliating concession to his demand and opt for peace.

Make sure you actually have roads connecting those resources to your capital. Just being next to a city is not enough.

I have road to both horse and iron, that's what enable me to make knight but still no rider. I can't figure why.
