How To: Make Leaderheads! Ekmek's Guide

Yeah, it's nonshader. Is there any quick way to make a shader nif out of a nonshader, or are they pretty much stuck that way?

well the easiest way is to copy over the nonshader trishapes on to a shaded nif (they use the same skeleton) but then you need to mess with the material settings and probably add a specular color node.

I think that's great Capo, except his hand skin tone doesn't really match his face color, but thats a easy skinning fix :D. Except his beard color is a bit erratic. Maybe change it with Charlemagne's beard skin?

Um..Can someone help me with this?

When I choose nifscripts this pops up.

ok, for adding the scalp. do the merge stuff like i mentioned before (you may have tried already) but now you are going to mess with UVs.

for reference I learned this from CRoland around steps 13:

NOTE: doing screenshots, will be right back

Alright, I am preparing myself mentally to try this (by that I mean eating pizza) so I'll wait for your images and stuff and give it a go when I'm done eating. I hope this is easy...

That's alright, I tried a quick test run on it, and it didn't seem all that difficult. I didn't do a great job merging the vertices though, but I'll get the hang of it eventually. Here is what it looks like so far.

great job. merging the vertices should be easy to get the hang. just click one then anoher close to it, hit merge and i usually do center. but it looks like you see it in UV mode and know how to skin it right. looks like you are reskinning it too!

by the way you've probably noticed that this uv mode is how you can start putting parts of the model on the same graphics file instead of multiple. thats how i've gone from a 14md lh file (constantine) to 1.9mb (jingu). but not really important.

great job. let me know if you need help, but you are becoming quite a blender master, just check some of your old posts and see the difference ;)

PS got to your nifscope and go to view and unclick vertices it'll get rid of those boxes

Thanks for the Tutorial Ekmek. Now that Sedna17 compiled Nifskope for use on a mac, I can now follow it. :goodjob:
I have sort of a newbish question, but if I go back and reedit the file in blender, do I have to reswap the skeleton in nifskope again? (I'm assuming so, but I just want to make sure I'm not taking unnecesary steps) :)

I am trying to make the Harold Godwinson LH I asked for a while back, but I've decided to base him off of Ragnar instead of Robert the Bruce. I've only swapped out the helmet for Brennus' hair, but its still very exciting!

wow. nice job! Yeah whenever you export from blender you have to do the nifswap. it shouldnt be that tough. keep up the work! if I can't reply for help ask Capo he's pretty good at blender too!

Damn Ekmek, I have no idea what the hell C. Roland's thing is talking about at all. I can't even BEGIN to understand it, and using a cube as an example isn't very helpful. So I think I'm just going to try and reskin it using DXTbmp and GiMP.
