How to modify some of the data from the game speeds for the scenario?

I wanted to ask whether you can change the game speed for scenarios. For example, take the mod TSL Giant Map Gedemon (Cookie's version) (v 3). I want to change some settings in marathon speed, eg change TrainPercent of the 300 on 150, and all other parameters should be just as well stay on the marathon. For this, I took file from the folder XML \ CityMap.xml (c: \ Documents \ My Games \ Sid Meier's Civilization 5 \ MODS \ TSL Giant Map Gedemon (Cookie's version) (v 3) \ XML \ CityMap.xml) and pasted parameters from the file CIV5GameSpeeds.xml, which stored in the directory of the game (... \ Sid Meier's Civilization 5 \ Assets \ DLC \ Expansion \ Gameplay \ XML \ GameInfo \ CIV5GameSpeeds.xml).
After all of the above was done in the game itself has changed nothing, and then I came here for advice.
How to modify some of the data from the game speeds for the scenario?

The game already has all the information contained within the "spoiler", and including that info into the code of a mod will simply cause the game to reject the entire contents of the file where the repeat occurs.

In order to change, for example, the "TrainPercent" value from 300 to 150 for the Marathon Game Speed, you need to place this somewhere in an xml file within the mod, and it needs to be after the line <GameData> and before the line </GameData> within the xml file:

Yes, I start a new game. I do test for Japan, at 300 "TrainPercent" - 39 turns to create Worker, at 150, 100 or 600 nothing has changed.
 
I just tested it. Works just fine.

  1. Started new game without the code shown and choosing Marathon Game Speed
  2. Scout required 19 turns to construct in a city with 4 hammers/turn
  3. Exited
  4. Added the code to an existing mod that was already enabled in step #1
  5. Started new game with the code shown and choosing same player and Marathon Game Speed as well as all other mods active the same
  6. Scout required 10 turns to construct in a city with 4 hammers/turn

I believe everthing the in "GameSpeeds" is "pre-game" info, meaning is only loaded when going through the Start New Game menu, and is assigned to any saved game you may do based on what was placed into the 'pregame' data from when you went through the "Start New Game" menu to begin that game. So reloading a saved game after applying the code shown has no affect upon that reloaded saved game.

If you follow(ed) the same procedure I did and saw no change, then there must be something else you are not doing correctly. It will be impossible for me or anyone else to figure out what that is without the code of the mod itself, as you are currently using it. Even if you are making little changes for private use to an existing mod. whoward69's zip your mods and attach tutorial. Remember that what we want is whatever you have for that mod which is currently in the My Games/Sid Meier's Civilization 5/MODS/[folder name of the mod in question]. We want you to zip the entirety of the folder [folder name of the mod in question], as whoward shows you in the linked tutorial.
