Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone has been able to install & play the full version of Civilization 3 (Conquests or Complete) on a tablet? If so, what type of tablet would I need? I'm seriously looking to purchase a tablet for the sole purpose of being able to take Civ 3 with me anywhere, and be able to install & play mods.
I am not looking to play Civ 3 through the Steam streaming app, nor am I looking to play it through an emulator like Exagear (still hasn't worked for me).
I am looking to know if the full version can be installed & run on a tablet. I would love to know if this is possible.

Any help or insight would be appreciated. Thank you so much!

Major health warnings on what I'm going to say as I play on a chunky old WindowsXP desktop, so this may be less than useless. I'm assuming you'd need a Windows compatible tablet, such as a Microsoft Surface Pro with a USB port for a mouse. CDs will not be an option but downloading from GOG or Steam should work I would have thought. With GOG you can download with 'offline installers', so you dont need to have GOG's steam equivalent downloaded (incase there were unforeseen compatibility issues with the tablet). This version can work with all the Mods that come with the game (I've not downloaded and installed one yet).

I'd suggest researching Surface Pros if you cant get a better answer here.

Hi Fergei,
Thanks so much for your assistance!!! I will look into a surface pro or surface go, then!

You are the man!!

Thought I'd have a look to make sure I'm not sending you on an expensive wild goose chase. The link below specifically mentions you can access Steam and GOG. Basically you should be able to play any lower powered computer game that any other Windows 10 machine can play.

Below is a review of the Pro in a trusted site. Sounds like you need to pay extra to get the keyboard cover, but it has a USB for a mouse. Also sounds like you can probably forget about using the touchscreen to play.

Go seems a lot cheaper than Pro but screen is 2" smaller. Good luck!

Thanks so much for putting this together Fergei! Through my own personal preference and looking at the links you provided, I think I'm going to go with a beefed up version of the Surface Go 2. I want portability and smaller is better for me, so i don't look like I'm pulling out an entire laptop on the airplane. I think i'll upgrade to the 8 GB RAM version in case I want to do a little photo editing. But overall, any $$ is worth my ability to play Civ 3 during a long flight. =)

Thanks again, friend!
