hi everybody, im sorry if this post got to the wrong forum, im new in the discussion boards;)

I installed some mod with some better looking terrain, but it messed up my foreign advisor screen. Anybody knows how to reset it back to normal?... i tried seaching the boards, but drowned in information:-P

I think we need a bit more information in order to help you, like the following:

1) What mod did you install?

2) What version of Civ are you playing (Vanilla, Warlords, BTS)

3) Do you have any other mods installed?

4) A screenshot of the advisor screen would really help us to understand what you mean by "messed up" or at least a detailed description.

When asking for help, it is always best to fail on the side of more information. Don't just assume that we will understand what you are talking about from very minimal info provided.

Lastly, Welcome to CFC!!!

Good point:-)

1) i don't recall what the mod thing was called, because i installed it a couple for years back, but i have the file: Improved Graphics for CIV v2.0.zip

2) Vanilla

3) nope, no other mods installed

4) screenshot attached. Thing is that nothing shows up in the foreign advisor besides what you see on the picture...

I'm not familiar with that mod unless it is a precursor to Blue Marble. Most don't play Vanilla anyway except for the GOTMs.

So if I'm seeing this correctly, you are missing the relationship lines between the leaderheads and you are missing Hatty's leaderhead. Am I missing something?

It's possible that that particular mod was bugged out or maybe the versions are incompatible. For example you have the latest version of Vanilla, but that mod version is for something older, or vice versa.

I'm assuming that mod installs into Custom Assets in which case it is always present as opposed to actually loading a mod. If that is the case, all you have to do is delete the Custom Assets folder.

Probably the best way to get there is go to your Civ4 folder>Click on the Custom Assets shortcut>Go up one level>delete Custom Assets folders. Or go to Documents>My Games>Civ4 and delete Custom Assets folder. (Civ4 will generate a new clean Custom Assets folder when you run it again so there is no harm in this)

However, the best thing for you to do is to get BTS if you don't have it. It is the version of Civ4 you should be playing. Install Blue Marble for Graphics and get the BUG mod for UI improvements.

oh...and you are missing the other tabs on the FA screen

Thanks... ill get BTS as soon as i can, just picked up the game again, even though ive been with the game from civ 2... btw it worked:-)
