How to run a successful Infernal empire?

The way you are SUPPOSED to do it though is to get all of your alignment to JOIN YOU in fighting a war against the others. Then any unit that they lose IN YOUR CAUSE, comes back and fights under your more competent leadership.

I've tried that, mostly they just have a few border skirmishes and then sit inside their own borders content with whatever you bribed them to go to war with. The worst case I had was with two continents, one full of good civs, the other evil - over two hundred turns of everyone at war and I as Basium was the only trying to killing anything. However my really small army was getting nowhere, so I came back to the other continent and wrecked havoc - ended up with a huge number of angels and cities, and went on to conquer the map.
Surely Basium should be penalised for attacking good civs, not given angels from those he kills.

"You will admit your herrasy or be purified by pain!"

Is it really that unrealistic to have Basim kill the heathen good guys who are not unified under his banner and have them return to fight at his side once they have seen the light? It is just his way of introducing them to their maker. Okay, it might not be the good thing to do, but it is not so different from waging wars in the name of religion to begin with.

I don't really consider Basium to be good anyway (he is just strongly anti-evil, so strongly that he is willing to act evil to combat evil), so it isn't unthematic.

Run Ragin Barbs so everyone expand slower. Rush Infernal Pact and you can get a non-Tundra spot, spawn point is random so if there is good land left and you spawn on tundra you can allways reload (I don't like reloading normally but this is too random for my taste).
