I'm not too sure if this is the right place to put this, so mods feel free to move this thread.

I've been recently trying to run Civ 4 BTS off of a flash drive, however I have been met with very little success. I have so far moved all of the files from the C:\Program Files\Firaxis\Civ 4... on to the flash drive but I haven't had any luck running the game. The computer I am trying to run BTS on now has had BTS installed on it before, but it was uninstalled by my parents. The My Documents folder is still intact, but I don't know what to do form here. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You will have to find or make a hack to run it from a flash drive if you didnt install it on the OS you wish to use onto the same drive letter. The key word is "portable software", if I got you right.
And you say it was uninstalled by your parents. I dont know hold old you are, 17?, but at least try to understand them if you argue. Or just get your own computer.

Not really possible since Civ4 would have to have it's registery written in the registery. (Try making a zxibit meme out of that :ack: )

Well I actually got it working about an hour after I started the thread, turns out I needed to redo the shortcuts in the directories that link up to the my games folder that was still intact.

Really? I did this and it worked without a problem with BTS 3.19, I even played multiplayer with it.

You only get registry issues when installing patches. I share the same installation folder between two windows (dual-boot setup) and it always ran well also on the one where it wasn't "installed".

As for the registry, the keys can always be exported and merged in the other system.

Is it possible to do this with a Flash Drive to use on Multiple Computers?

I would assume so as long as you copy the My Games folder over on the flashdrive with the game. Then all you would have to do is transfer that over to that user's My Games folder and forward all of the shortcuts in the BTS folder on the flashdrive
