How to see AI turns on hot seat and disable please wait? (CIV VI)

I played hot seat with my friend. I declared war on a city state. I go first, then my friend and then please wait screen pops up and city state attacks me, but I can't see their turn. Is there a way to see AI turns in hot seat?

I have already tried this one it gets rid of please wait but it still skips AI turns
