We have the opportunity for many Spending stuffs. Combining all possible embassies yields 103 Gold according to Foreign. Rushing the Temple of Pete could be as much as 60 Gold. And we could be upgrading a Warrior to a Swordsman for 40.

As you can see, all of that > 180 Gold.

So, I'm devising this poll in case our expendatures become a bit... uncomfortable.

Basically, I want to hold 50 Gold in reserve for Upgrading 1 Warrior to a Swordsman.

Option 1 means we establish all embassies that the People endorse in these polls here, then Rush the Temple of Pete (if favored) when the amount of gold remaining >= 50+Cost of Rushing.

Option 2 means we rush the Temple of Pete when the People Say so, then wait to establish Embassies until Funds >= 50 Gold + Combined Cost of all Approved Embassies.

Option 3 means we wait until Funds >= 50 Gold + Rushing Cost + Cost of all Approved Embassies before doing anything, at which oint we do everything.

Option 4 means we Do the Rushing and the Embassies ASAP, regardless of remaining Gold afterwards.

Option 5 = Your Input.

Option 6 = No Opinion or you like the fact that the Babylonian Poll was not marked as "Public".

Poll ends at the start of the Turnchat.

I would do the Embassy with France, as its cost will only rise. Then I would upgrade the Warrior as soon as it reached a Barracks, then at turn ten (10), I would rush the Temple, as the ten turns would have probably produced the 20 gold needed for the rush.

Temple rushing seems like the best plan to me as long as we do not get dependant on it.

Rush the Temple, then the Embassies when we have enough gold - they don't need to be all at once, do the most popular first then another as the gold builds up again... Not sure what option that is.

I'm also not sure why if we are never going to use our Swordsmen (as appears to be the case from the poll concerning war with Rome) we are spending money upgrading more Warriors to Swordsmen who will never be used. We can't upgrade Swordsmen in Vanilla, they're a dead end, and we will need to build funds for the upgrade of Horsemen to Samurai (assuming we build more than the two we currently have that is). If necessary we could use the reserve we're keeping for the Samurai for Swordsmen upgrades if we are declared on.

Furiey, the Swordsmen situation is one of our biggest mistakes, in my opinion. With the upgrade of the Warrior in Corrino (I just looked at the save) I could probably take Pompeii, Antium and Neopolis in 12 turns and be ready to march on Rome with 10 Swordsmen remaining. Taking out Rome would completely remove that tribe as a threat, plus the cities we add would increase our gpt to compete with France and the Zulus. We need to increase our edge now or fall behind.

Embassies now vs. later would not make a significant difference. On the other hand, delaying Pete's temple rush would save money. Making embassies sooner could improve relations and provide better trades, but I don't think any important trade will be made until feudalism is discovered. Since rushing the temple in Pete will enable better tiles to be used, I'll say that is more important than getting embassies quickly. I also agree that embassies should be done one at a time in order of popularity.

I absolutely agree, that's what I would do too. My post was in the light of "Wait for Samurai" winning (or at least about to win) the poll for when to go to war with Rome.

I strongly advocate embassies and smashing Rome into a dozen tiny fragments.

Well - it looks like we are going to war with Rome now, so upgrades should have priority, so Temple and only Embassies if they still leave enough cash. Still don't have to be done all at once though.

I agree. I understood you were for war above, too. I was agreeing with you in an off-hand way. It is a tight situation we have here. I was able to put together a battleplan. Don't know if it's too late or not. War is Hell. :mischief:

Only question is How long will it take for the Warior(s) in Benny to get back to a Barracks. (We're still a good ways away from Chivalry.) I'm thinking it would be a good while yet.

You don't want to upgrade those Warriors, SD3. The cities are close enough together that with a good road system, defense of all the Northern cities can be done by minimal roving units (Horseman, Spearman, Swordsman, etc.). We shouldn't be spending our gold on those Northern units.
