HRY3 - Requiem for the Monarchs

Pre-turn: Grab some of the Knights we have sitting around and send them to be upgraded.
Delphi, Thermo, and Aigle switched to Factories.

1 1355 AD:
Athens Factory->Coal Plant
New Argos Worker->Lib
Halicarnassus Temple->Court
Rush Factory in Corinth.
Ephesus switched to Factory.

2 1360:
Corinth Factory->Galleon

3 1365:
Argos Musket->Factory
New Corinth Lib->Court
New Thermo Lib->Harbor
New Athens Musket->Worker
Rhodes Cavalry->Factory
Pergamon Court->'Duct
Phocaea Galleon->Court
Rush the Factory in Thessalonika.

4 1370:
Scientific Method learned. Now researching The Corporation.
Athens Coal Plant-> Theory of Evolution
Thessalonika Factory->Cav
Hallucination Uni->Court

Rush the Factory in Ephesus
Also rush the Factory in Thermo.
Trade Electricity to America for Nationalism.

5 1375:

Corinth Galleon->Galleon
Herakleia Galleon->Uni
Ephesus Factory->ArtY
Megara Court->Brax
Apollonia Galleon->Harbor

6 1380:
New Delphi Lib->Worker

7 1385:
Delphi Factory->Cav
Mycenae Factory->Arty
America lands troops near New Delphi!!! Oh, nevermind. It's just some Settler pairs. Looks like they want to poach some of our unclaimed land.
Rush the Factories in Aigle and Eretria.

8 1390:
Corinth Galleon->Cav
Aigle Factory->Arty
Thessalonika Cav->Cav
Eretria Factory->Arty
Troy Uni->Factory

9 1395:
Learn The Corporation. Now researching Sanitation.
Thermo Cav->Arty
Ephesus Arty->Arty

10 1400:
Renew Babylonian Silks deal.
Mycenae Arty->Arty
Artemisium 'Duct->Court

Notes: Suffrage in Knossos should be considered a per-build for Hoover's! ToE in Athens should be used for the usual Atomic Theory->Electronics jump. Sanitation should be learned on the same turn that ToE completes, so that should work out just right.
Also, keep building military. I neglected it on my turn, but only because the Factories were more essential.

The Save:
The Industrial Greek Assassins

Deceased Horse is UP.

Preturn: Per suggestion, I hire many civil engineers in our southern territories, greatly reducing the time it will need to build courthouses and librarys. While I doubt the area will be a huge producer anytime soon, they should be somewhat useful. I plan to join workers with our Iron Works city and then turn them to civil engineers; this may make its construction actually possible sometime in the next hundred turns :D

IBT: The ZULU declare war on the Koreans. This may require us to accelerate our invasion timetable. Begin preparations for Operation Buttercup, the greek invasion of western Korea.

1. 1405 A.D. : We sure have alot of Galleons...
Various military production continues. New Thermopylae riots, swap citizen to C. Engineer. Rush Factory in Marathon and Argos. Upgrade some dudes to rifles. Down to about 200 g's. Build Embassy in Seol, which is currently garrisoned w/ Wang Kon, 9 rifles, a couple of L-bows and 2 H'Wacha's. We currently have 11 Cavalry 3 Artillery, a few rifles and some eager crusaders thrown in to build a fort should a long siege be needed. We need more troops. Send Fortified knights down south up to be upgraded, stripping our defenses. Shift troops to cover in a few turns.

2. Keep going

3. No Zulu progress detected yet. Galleons are full, so I unload a few crusaders to fit more Arty and Cavs in.

4. TOE and Sanitation roll in, do the Atomic Theory-Electronics slingshot. Athens starts on our first hospital. Knossos swaps to Hoover Dam, due in 3 :goodjob: Korea remains desperate for coal, despite having an unconnected source right next to one of their cities.

5. Admiral Lysander recives coded orders to begin Operation Buttercup. The fleet quietly sets sail..

6. Wang Kon recieves quite a suprise when he recieves our declaration of war followed by a suprise amphibious landing dropping a massive Greek invasion force right outside Seoul.

7. The Hoover Dam completes. Sell off the coal plant in the capital. Our heavy guns open fire on Seol, blasting all the vet and a couple of the regular riflemen out of the way. Korean defenders open up with rockets and arrows, but too no avail. All of their defenders are routed or killed, even the mighty Wang Kon who falls to a cavalry brigade. We lose a few cavs and a pair of elite knights who were off leader fishing.

8. 2 Settlers board a boat for the (former) Korean empire. Switch some of our military builds to hospitals, stock exchanges, ect. Need the extra cash generating power to pay for our unit support. Send out our cav to run blockades if neccessary.
IBT: Zulu start Shakespeare's.....

9. dum de dum

0. Found The Eagle's Nest next to the rubber. Start Harbor :cool:

Another one bites the dust

Let's get cities up on those wines and furs. Unfortunatly, we have lux deals ongoing with the remaining civs but I figure that that will not be a huge issue since we have to reach the modern age to finish off the rest of our foes anyway.

Excellent work! I'm glad the invasion went so smoothly.
DH, could you give me some exact numbers on how many troops were used in the attack? Specifically, I just want to know how many artillery and cavalry we used.

Let's keep our military over there in Korea, and build up more troops there for an eventual attack on on of the other civs. I vote for Babylon or America. I want to leave the Zulus alive so we might at least have some challenge in the Modern Age.

Current Roster:
1. DeceasedHorse - just played
2. mitsho - UP NOW
3. cizzlewalk - ON DECK
4. Kuningas
5. Elvis1985
6. Hooray

I'd have to check the save to be sure, which I will do tonight.. I would guess about 6-8 artillery pieces initially (we have some more fortified on the mainland built after the fleet left), 3-4 Riflemen, 3 crusaders, 2 Elite Knights, and the rest of the galleys full of cavs; since I unloaded a total of 32 units if I remember correctly that would be like 15-17 cavalry or so. The cavs are currently spread out along the boarders, looking for settler pairs to blockade since we want to make sure that we acquire the furs and wines as well as the rubber which is ours as soon as we get a harbor (just cash rush one next turn or disband a crusader now to avoid the doubled price). We are currently importing 3 luxuries and can drop the lux slider to zero if we are willing to hire specialists in our largest towns (Over size 12). I traded the Zulu Sanitation for 2 luxs. The AI, as usual, is wasting its time researching the top-side gov techs and are hopelessly behind; I doubt they will even have infantry before we reach the modern age, depending on our own spending. We could probably build Universal Sufferage and even Shakespeare's if we trade for the tech, just for fun. We are currently on a beeline for tanks, with Combustion just about done (still need steel). Production is up to the usual hoover's/factory level of craziness. I managed to get the Iron Works build time down to the mid 30's or so, but it won't come in any faster unless we disband mil. units in the town because that city is at size six and has no aquaduct.

2 SCIENTIFIC LEADERS!?!?! [dance]
I wonder how close zulu are able to finish Universal Suffrage... we should probably hold on to them and wait for SETI and UN wonders, just for the sake of making sure Zulu don't win the vote :rolleyes:
I really am getting tired of seeing so many enemies around us, so I just might try to take out another civ while I can...

Yeah, might as well save them for some Modern Age wonders. The "Age of Science" is BS. I've never seen it make an appreciable difference in research speed.

erm, I want to rush the habor In Eagle's NEst (on Korean territory), but I see that we already have rubber!) where's the problem?

It's going through someone else's harbors. We should go ahead and build the harbor in case the trade route through AI territory gets cut off.

I just looked at the save and there are a couple things:
1) rubber is coming from Eagle's Nest only
2) checking America and Zulu, neither will build Universal Suffrage in time
3) Babylon has no connected rubber, but I still think America should fall first even though they are getting replaceable parts first
4) Age of Science cuts 3-5 turns off certain techs, so they are better during middle ages :rolleyes:
5) no workers in korean lands, we need to get some over there just for safety purposes

alright I'll have time tonight to play, I should be ABLE to post around 2 pm eastern time tomorrow

Turns are complete, but I was swamped with work and a report due tomorrow (yes a SATURDAY)... so I finished that and now have to go out for awhile. I might be able to post turns 10-11 ish tonight, so look for that. I think you guys will like the invasion force I've massed together, so prepare to have fun Kuningas :D

Mass Production in 1 turn, don't forget about battle ships :mischief:
I think we SHOULD use one of the SGLs for an Age of Science and the other for SETI Program, I just think having those extra few turns ahead of Zulu will be very helpful, it's not like we're going to need to worry about Longevity... (or UN :lol:)

No, like I said before, the Age of Science does nothing. It's probably bugged, and will hopefully be fixed in a future patch. We'll use one SGL for SETI and the other is debatable. Either the UN or The Internet would be good. I say Internet because instant Research Labs will be nice.

Internet and Age of science will probably have the same effect :) (overall .) but Internet lasts longer. So one for Internet and the other one for Uno (if it's getting thight)

mfg mitsho

The Internet will also give us lots of culture, for what it's worth. This late in the game I doubt it matters what we do with those SGLs anyway.
