I want to make my own WWIII senario but all of my world maps are way to small. Does anybody know were I can get a world map that is at least 220 by 220 or bigger?

Thanks

There's a famous one by Marla Singer which is a monstrosity. I wouldn't go near the beast myself. Alaska alone takes up 2 screenfulls. Why not just make your own world map. I did and it really doesn't take that long at all and its kinduv interesting.

If you do make your own world map, I would suggest NOT making it such that X=Y. The distance from pole to pole is but half the distance around the equator. If one considers that most of the "action" lies between the 45th parallels, then I would suggest that if y= 200, then x=~282 ( a 1:sqrt of 2 ratio). The other large maps I have seen (256X256 for instance as well as Marla Singers') are way out of porportion IMHO.

The one I made was in perfect proportion. But even if it isn't, like Africa comes out a bit fat and short, it's okay cause the comical feel to it just adds to the game fun and makes it more interesting. Kinduv a manga effect. I might even make one intentionally out of proportion.

I don't care if its 300 by 300. I've used maps that were 400 by 400 before with 45 custom made civs. But once you get into modern tmes and the number units for each civ are like in the hundreds, it takes my 2.39 GHz PC almost 2 hours to complete a single turn. Thats why I've been playing the same game for nearly a 2 months. Getting kind of old.

yeah, i have to echo what bug says - i love huge maps but picture when you'll have 400 units and a hundred cities to deal with every turn.... it's an epic undertaking.
