I always have trouble with multiplayer

Anyone that has played multiplayer without it crashing or other issues.
We can play throw half a watch or so without any problems and then we get a lot of desyncs and after a few more turns we can't do anything. Units do not move when we order them to.

We play with barbarians turned off. Small map normal player count.
2 real players.
No events or events enabled but all types of events disabled (someone told me this would help)

Have anyone finished a multiplayer game?
Any ideas on how to get it to work?
 
on which version do you play?

Edit: We had big issue since the 1-11 (bug you mention for exemple) not to mention it is not possible to play on the newer version of VP (see github issues 6241).
in the 1-11 after reaching renaissance descync become more and more frequent and longer.

We plan to return on the december version who was more stable.

I have tested on many versions and never been able to finish a game.
 
Try 7-29-1 with the MP Save Fix. If either of you encounter a crash, reload the autosave (from MP Save Fix, NOT from the game) and try again. If it still doesn't work, try earlier turns.

what is MP Save Fix?
 
I've had this issue. Like others have mentioned, reloading from an earlier auto save normally works.
