After two weeks of trying evrything i have read on this site i finally give up. I have run the SRL and everything checks out. My results are below. I can not understand why my system freezes up for around 20 seconds at a time while playing on even small maps. I can not even finish a game on the Duel map. I have no idea what is wrong. I have the latest patch and i installed all the recent drivers on my computer. COuld it strictly be my Video card?

OK. Your problem if I understand it correctly, that civ freezes for ~20 seconds.. and then everything continues normally. Right?

What happens with the music while the game is frozen? Is it playing or not? In either case, try to disable sounds completely in the ini file: EnableAudio=0.

Try to run the game in a window (Fullscreen=0) and open a Windows Task Manager (via Ctrl+Alt+Del, Task Manager) in the Processes tab. Sort the processes by "CPU". Is there anything weird to be seen? E.g., some process suddenly consuming 99% of cpu or so?

Have you tried smaller resolutions, details level, experimenting with some other graphics options?
