I can't find my spy

Hi, so I know I have a spy because there is a spy icon in the top right hand corner. But I don't know where it is. He or she does not appear in my units list, and when I send the spy back to the safe house, nothing happens. Much help would be appreciated.

Spies are not physical units in Civ V. You handle all spy activity directly through the espionage window.

^^He probably has as he said he moved the spy to the safe house.

I think OP is trying to find a physical unit, which as Kizo explained, is not a physical unit but is controlled through the espionage screen.

As others have said, unlike CIV, no physical spy. In the Espionage screen, the spy should be listed. Just click on the move button and assign him either to one of your cities (to serve as a counterspy) or to another civ (for gathering intrigue, tech stealing and to observe what that city has built and is building) or to a CS (to rig elections and gain influence). It will take a few turns for the spy to "move" to the city you assign, and a few more turns to get established.
