I found a bug

You can get 2.42 in stores right now with Risk Gold Edition.Comes with Risk,Risk2 and Civ2 2.42.I got it for $30 Canadian.

Cool! Risk I is still one of my old-time favorites and the first game that I made my own NO-CD crack for. Also have Risk 2, but find it (paradoxically) less fun than Risk I, mainly due to the single map and removal of lots of gameplay features. I think Civ II 2.42 is probably in a CD rack at WalMart, or computer store for 8 or 9 USD... at least they used to be.

btw-I had no problem making a copy and converting to FW with Cedric's FW update

As I remember, the actual conversion went fine. I think the failure is in a graphics module needed as it runs, and I was not ready to look into it more. I'm pretty particular about the drivers on computers I use, including the Indeo drivers, for reasons I touch on the the Tech Support forum. :).

I should add that so far FW is functioning normally.I even toyed around with the scenario editor and it is all there and functioning within normal parameters :D.

No graphics problems at all

Well I thought the "and look!" conveyed my feeling of suprise. This city was producing the same trade arrows as my colossus city. Plus it livened things up around here. or something.
So this post isn't spam I'll add that I have graphic problems with the MGE patch, have to wait for the whole intro cinematics to run their course with a blank screen, and an error box confirm button. Then it runs fine.
Also the star trek patches graphics get garbled if I go into view mode. Shame because I really wanted to play them.

Guys I found the bug in the original picture. Jeeze. You can only have entertainers if you have more than 5 citizens in your city. There isn't five now is there?

I finally installed a FW using Cedric's great patch. I posted details about how to solve the isue I was referring to in the Tech Support forum, and it was not graphic per se. It was the old WinG libraries that some games of the early and mid 90's need to run...

A good place to post program bug issues is the Tech Support forum, like for the issues ArmOrAttAk might be having :).

A city of any size can have entertainers. You need to have at least 5 citizens to turn an entertainer (the Elvis head) into a Taxman or Scientist (Einstein).
