Hi guys,

What can you do about pollution except building the mass thingy(i don't know how it calls anymore :-) and the recycle center ?

Cause I have build these 2 things everywhere and i still get a lot of pollution.

build the hoover dam (or hydro or solar plants). other than that, clean up the mess. and don't nuke people. You can always not build the production improvements.

Global warming is caused by a ton of pollution. Clean it up! And if they AI won't, then that's your problem!

Pollution sucks

everybody knows it

Clean up all the pollution the same turn it occurs
Build Mass transit & recycling center in citys that need them

MT in cities with pop 12 and over , RC in cities with shields over 25

Plant forests, esp if you did a lot of jungle clearing (look for gaps between cities that no workers are laboring on & sites where you cleared jungle are best sires for this)

If The AI is clearing jungle or not cleaning his pollution, take his civ and do it yourself with his workers:D

Global warming is a pain in the ass, but IMO it doen't change gameplay much, I just find it annoying. Pollution is different, pollution causes reductions in productivity, happiness, & populations as tiles with pollution cannot be worked. It MUST be dealt with ASAP!

Pollution is one of the things that makes CivIII just that little bit more "realistic", I guess. But the AI's problem with pollution makes it quite irritating... ^_^' maybe there is a way to turn pollution off in PTW? Or maybe diplomacy allows you to force/ask civs to clean up...

What I don't like is that they're quite hard to spot. On a huge map you can potentially miss polluted spots.

in industrial era i built only factory + hover dam, this giv 2 pollution skull, 4 city will built an airport ( + 1 pollution skull), much later i will built hospital ( when i got mass transit) and i always have 2 stack of 12 worker to clean pollution in 1 turn.

Here's something I discovered. I'm not sure if it's in the manual or read me text.

If you press Shift + P your workers automatically go looking for pollution. No need to send them to specific places. It takes alotta boredom out of the micromanagement of the later stages of the game.

Of course maybe you did all know this. I found it by accident.

I hate the AIs that don't clean up their garbage. You could do an anti pollution treaty in Alpha Centauri but not in Civ 3. :(

It'll only send two workers to clean up pollution. And, if I recall correctly (based on the last time I played, I HOPE they fixed this...), as soon as there's no pollution left to clean up, the workers go back to waiting for new orders.

@ Pragmatic : Ever since patch 1.17f you can send as many workers as you have and as required to clear each pollution tile by using Shift-P. And I think its fair to let the worker go back to wait state when there is no more pollution instead of put them to sleep in a city. :)

Yes i agree with you, a.i. create global warming. When they start polluting the world, i start precision bombing on their city to destroy coal plant, factory, and reduce city size. I saw an ai city size 32 without mass transit, this create pollution a lot. Dam ai not even able to clean their own sh.t.

again, you could make the kyoto agreement, but america wouldn't sign it.

I am pretty sure u.s. citizen would agree with kyoto protocol, but as you know Mister W with his new administration screw up everything from

1.- kyoto
2.- Abm ( so now he can put weapon into space)
3.- taxe on canadian wood
4.- war agaisnt the so call evil nation( need some oil)
5.- Enron and world come bankrupt( he did same dirty trick while he was a private pdg same for dick cheney)
6.- i bet a 100 $ virtual box that, if Bill Clinton was still there none of that would happen, even the world trade center will still be there, but with mister W oh my god everything went wrong.

No smiley there ? :)

Not realy prevent it but not creating the condition to provoct it, you know what i mean. If i do nothing wrong to another nation why they would want to kill me ?

Same thing for enron and world come bankrupt, why this happen at the same time? because Bush was a corrupted administrator too, he use the same dirty comptability tricks some year ago, so his corrupted teaching spread out and create the mess.
