I have a weird problem

i have the compaq presario v3000 (laptop)

Processor
Intel Core Duo T2400 2.0 GHz
RAM Installed Size 512 MB Technology DDR II SDRAM - 400 MHz and over Memory specification compliance PC2-4300
StorageHard Drive 60 GB - 5400 rpm
VideoGraphics Processor / Vendor Intel 945GM Operating System / Software
OS Provided Microsoft Windows vista

this is what my laptop's specs look like,but i'm only sure of the processor,ram,HD and the OS. i'll check everything later (i'm in an internet cafe)

i haven't done a thing to it yet except install some necessary programs like AVG and norton and stuff (since i bought it 3 days ago)...i was wondering why is it that my game, when it loads up, gives me a message like "your system does not meet the minimum requirements. this game will not run on this hardware"

and my laptop meets at least the recommended requirements. i can play it though...but i have it on lowest detail and my game loads VERY slowly (new game takes around 15 - 20 minutes (or even 30 i think), don't know about load game since i just started playing last night). and its quite slow on
gameplay too.
anyone willing to help?

PS i downloaded the no-dvd patch and the 1.09 thing
before i forget, i own the 2 cd version of civ 4

First off: I don't care about the no-cd crack - if it does no work with it thats no surprising, you are not supposed to use one
Does the game work with the original .exe? If not what is the problem?

I believe the problem would be windows vista pure and simple. Its not too stable as it is and running a new laptop with 800mb ram on it is slow as anything, nevermind trying to play a proper game on one with 500mb.

oh okay...i guess ur right. i already solved it by tweaking my vista. its still slow...but its 5x faster compared to the pre-tweaked ver. i also found out that my video card is only 64 mb. thanx for everything. this case is closed
