So does anyone every try and play an entire marathon game online or is that just too difficult?

There's a couple different sorts of online game usually played, one is pitboss "turn per day" (log in, play your turn, and log out again till tomorrow) types where epic games can take a year or so, and the other is more session based, quick turn-every-few-minute games where the entire game is a few hours long.
