I need new gaming ideas!

Sad to say I've got kind of mentally lazy lately. I want a new game to get into but can't be bothered to figure out most ones out there (if I had to learn even Civ I all over again I'd probably be too lazy to do so. ).

Any awesome games that are really simple to learn but can lead to many hours of entertainment value?

For reference, in the past I enjoyed Civ, Civ II, Risk (the board game), for Nintendo (Dragon Warrior series, Final Fantasy series, Nobunaga's Ambition).
