i offically hate EB

i pre ordered from eb, went in today just as i was told, the guy said he couldnt give it to me today cuz i preordered it yesterday when i was SPECIFICALLY told i could come in tomorrow (being today) to get it, i got my money back, went to gamestop, asked if they had it, they said of course now im installing

EB is Electronics Boutique, or EBGames. Their website is EBgames.com.

We preordered two copies from EB, when my husband went to pick them up they had only reserved one. The sales gal did bend over backwards, though - she called several stores and got another one to agree to ship a copy to the store we ordered from, and gave us someone else's copy.

Not that it matters, since my computer is having the black screen/Cheshire cat problem.

Anyway, if you preordered from EBGames in the dirt mall in Thornton/Northglenn, CO and didn't get your copy because they gave it to someone else, you can blame it on my husband.

I paid 49.99 at gamestop. I went in right when they opened today and they were opening up their shipments for the day. They ordered a total of 3 copies for the week!. Luckily one of those three was not pre-ordered so i got it.

Yeah, I've had problems at EB before but they've always gone out of their way to fix it. It got me to go back to their store too

The problem with EB Games stores now is they were bought out by Gamestop? and they have changed some of their stores to mostly console and only bring in pre-ordered PC games and no more. It is sort of hit-or-miss now if you go into an EB Games store looking for the latest PC games. Better to go to a Walmart or CompUSA or BestBuy if one is near you. I used to buy all my games from the local EB Games store, but I don't bother anymore.

I went into my local EB store at lunchtime and they told me they only received 1 copy and that was reserved for someone who pre-oredered it. So, I drove out to the burbs and picked it up from Best Buy which had at least 15 copies on the shelf.

I love EB games.. everywhere in canada said the 27th for release! I got a call today saying that they had one and I should go pick it up. (Instore pre-oder) and I get over there a little out of breath(sprinting as fast as I could) and the guy recognized me and nodded in recognition cause he was busy. A week ago I pre-ordered and he said that he wasn't allowed to give out anymore Special editions anymore so I thought I was getting a normal version.. Anyway, He says that it's the only copy they have(aparently in canada, though I don't believe that), it's the special edition and it's all for me! I was Extatic. Got home, installed, Played, lost. love it.

now if the guy at eb tried to locate me another copy at another store that would be a different story, he didnt even try to find another copy for me, i had to ask so there arent any store copies laying around or anything in the back, he just snapped back at me and said no

The guy at my EB got an extra pre-order copy and held it for me. They've always been good to me. Plus I can usually find a coupon to help offset the fact that I'm not waiting for the inevitable sale price.

So my Civ4 was $44.99.

I live in Vancouver, BC - nobody has it yet - they have been saying "tomorrow" since Monday! - I have called every Best Buy, Futureshop, and EB Games within an hour of my house... nothing.... and so I wait.
