Thalassicus
Bytes and Nibblers
After reading the reviews I was a little hesitant when firing up this scenario, thinking it would be another half-baked map like Omens for Warlords. I was pleasantly surprised, and would like to convey that to the creator(s) if they happen to ever read this.
The unique concept and sheer amount of creativity in art design, both visual and audio, for this one simple scenario is amazing. Art takes a long time and good amount of spontaneous thought, and having taken years in 2d art, 3d computer modeling and animation, storyboarding and character design, I have a strong appreciation for the number of work-hours invested in that scenario.
It really has a different feel than the rest of the game, and was VERY fun playing it at 2am, in my room, alone with the lights out. I love the intro, it actually gives the different people a sense of character, and I was pleasantly surprised at what was possible in the Civ IV engine.
