First off I'm not sure if it's just because I haven't played this game in a long time, but I cannot seem to found a religion.. I was the first to research Druidism, but nothing happened.. at all. Not sure what to do from here. I read that you cannot found a religion in your capital city but since I cannot build a second city until I research tribalism I'm stuck until I to the next era, and seeing that Druidism and Shamanism are way before tribalism it just doesn't make any sense.

Then that brings me to my second problem. Another civ has founded Mesopotamism  I went straight for Druidism, the game has really only just begun and already another civ is researching technologies an entire era ahead of me?? Am I missing something here?

Also, map options like Immense are not an option. It just goes to gigantic. Other than that, the game seems to be working fine.

I apologize if these topics have already been covered, or if I'm just missing some simple procedure, but I have searched for some time now for the answers and have found nothing. Any help is appreciated.

1. upon reaching Druidism did you recieve a great Prophet? If so this inidcates that you have Divine Prophets Option On. If not how do you know you were the 1st to Druidism. Did you check the Religion Advisor?

2. Not sure where you read you can not found religion before 2nd city built. There is a Tech requirement that must be achieve 1st though.

3. What difficulty level are you playing? Certain Leaders can achieve their "Favorite" religion quite fast.

4. Immense was taken out because of the game lag problems it develops. Same as Game Speeds (GS) being recently changed for the slowest GS.

5. I don't use Steam so path placement is not known to me. But did you start your 1st game as a Play Now? This sometimes helps with missing UI. You only need to start the Play Now and play a couple turns, then you can exit to desktop reload BtS and start a Custom game to use all our options.

6. One last thing, did you rename the Mod from Caveman2Cosmos to perhaps C2C? This has been shown to cause UI problems as well. It is not advised to change the Mods name.

And Welcome to Caveman2Cosmos

EDIT: See this post to see if it helps. http://forums.civfanatics.com/showpost.php?p=14154654&postcount=101

You could possibly be on Choose Religions as well as Divine Prophets. In DP, prophets are used to start religions and if you really are first to the religion you get a free prophet. In Choose Religions, there's really no tech limit to which religions can be opened up with prophets - and if not on DP, you get to choose which religion you found when you are first to a religious tech.

Yes, changing names is not good! Found this out first hand. If you look at the religion when choosing a tech, if there's a little symbol in the corner (I think hands clasped in prayer) it means it has not been founded yet. If it isn't there, someone else has founded it. If this is the case, researching it will only bring it to your civ to adopt if you want. You won't be credited with founding the religion and won't have a holy city. Also, if you have the civic for it, you will be prompted to change to the religion when you found it.

If the religion tech has been researched you get nothing from researching it. The XML has been changed so that the AI understands this in a round about way.
