I want a World Map

I want a world map with realistic starting locations for Civ3 original for Mac. I found a PC one with realistic starting locations, tried to put the *.bic file in the scenarios folder and it didn't work. Even tried the Maps folder. (Dunno why there's two different folders.)

So, could someone help me out? I dunno why they don't work. But I want to either make one or find one... Thanks.

Are you running version 1.29b2? Was the map made with version 1.29 (no expansions) on the Windows side? If both of these are "yes," it should work. Beyond that, you'll have to provide more details on exactly how it fails to work.

Where is the one you found? Maybe I can look at it and see what's wrong?

You won't be able to make your own map with fixed starting positions on the Mac editor. It's a version 1.21 editor and doesn't support fixed start locations.

This thread reminds me of a *major* thing I want to see with Civ IV: A world map with accurate starting positions for nations — and the ability to edit not only the starting positions, but terrain as well.

For the life of me, I cannot figure out *why* TPTB in Civ III neglected to include those things. I mean, my God, this is Civilization! A lot of folks are going to want to play on an Earth map with accurate starting positions!
