Holy cow!

I have a seasonal relationship with Civ. Have since I was a boy. Since Warlords came out, I thought I'd play a short game last night. I started at 9PM, which I'm sure was the issue, but I was up to the wee hours. Talk about the curse of one more time.

What is the longest duration you've ever played? Has it ever made you late for work, the bus, a wedding, your wedding?

I am tired today!

A few times when it's getting light outside, I've decided it's not worth going to bed, and I just carry on playing until it's time to go to work. Whenever I do that, I struggle through work and then sleep the whole of the next evening.

Well I started a game at around 8 am once (I was up early, for my beloved CIV4 ^^) and before i knew it, it was 7 pm

Or as Sirian mentioned it: I was playing and 'suddenly' it was 16 hours later

First time I ever played the original Sim City I remember thinking "this isn't very fun" and the next time I looked up at the clock it was 4am

I think the longest I've ever played a game of Civ straight is like 8 hours. Fortunately I have a wife to pull me out of my coma.

So much time passes, and you realize, you're still in the Medieval age.

Actually Civ (the original) still holds my personal record of being the game I had my longest session with. I played a single game nonstop, from start to world domination, for 35 hours. (Perhaps subtract half an hour in total for walks to the bathroom and for putting a pizza into the microwave).

I do that all the time for new games. I get obsessive about it. I'll probably play to 5 and then get up at 11, rinse and repeat. That's before I got a job though

Multiplayer game the other week. One of the guys was taking up to five minutes a turn for the first 100 turns.

my longest duration i have played a game was civ2. It was my summer vacation and i woke up 8am i think and alost immedietly started playing civ2 and then i went sleep 4am. I was so TILT the next day and couldnt play civ2 for 1 week, got a overdoze i think

Same here, happens often to me. Between CIV4 (and GalCiv2 also) I sometimes end up playing so late, almost always to the 2am+ mark. Then, its like I can go to work tired, or call in sick sometimes too.

its 3.06am and im up and i aint even got warlords yet grrrrrrr. Mind you i did crash for 8 hrs in bed when i got home from work. Tough day or just out too much
