Can someone suggest a how-to guide?
Also, what program can I use to make the animation/sheet? Keep in mind that the computer I have is quite old, so it should run on virtually everything :D

Have you taken a look at Utahjazz's tutorial? It's honestly a great one if you're just starting from scratch. I didn't know anything about animation or 3d models before i started making units and it explained it perfectly. I believe most programs he used are quite old, and you can find a free version of most of them online at this point. Im not entirely sure about Poser, but I've heard Daz studio is quite similar.

I know how to animate stuff (using Blender), but I do not know how to turn the animation into a unit for CivIII :)
An example of an animation/model I made last year:

Basically what software to use (something by Steph?), what type (flc?), how to make the palette (I suppose in a batched manner, maybe Steph's tool does that?) for all icons etc etc.
Any links to that would help.
Also, maybe @Vuldacon can answer :)

Kyriakos... Other than getting basic posts from members here who make Units, it is best to understand that each Unit maker has personal techniques and programs they use to accomplish the same steps when making Units for the Civ Game engine.
Example... for Graphics work, some use Gimp, Photoshop, Corel Painter, etc... and I use Paint Shop Pro 9. Different programs are used for adding the Unit colors to a Unit Palette and some use Batch files.
To explain each Step would require many very long posts and even that would be subject to the particular programs used and how to use them.

Programs I use ... some simply out of habit:
SBB = Steph's Storyboard Builder Link on Post #2 https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/sbb-storyboard-builder.42092/
Civ3FlcEdit on Post #1 https://forums.civfanatics.com/threads/civ3mmtoolkit-civilization-iii-mode-makers-toolkit.117669/ I use this occasionally just for Offsets of the Default Flc.
Paint Shop Pro 9 or the Graphics Editing Program you like. PSP 9 (Full Version) might be found on Amazon or EBay.
Pedit palette editor https://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Graphic-Others/PEdit.shtml
Moenir's Flicster on Post #1 https://forums.civfanatics.com/thre...r-version-1-0-1-build-18-now-available.10208/ get v1.0.1 (build 18) to patch v. 1.0.0

Each program has particular techniques... you need to understand not only the steps to make a Unit for the CIV Game but how to gain what is needed in each step along the way.
The Steps are not difficult when understood but depending on the Programs used for each step, it can be confusing because different programs perform differently.

I can help you through the steps along with helping you understand the details so you can choose and or develop your own personal techniques... just contact me.
