One thing I would like to see in CIV5 is your relation to another Civ have some mechanical drawbacks/benefits when it comes to war.

I don't mind a Civ going to war with me when they are happy with me if I'm vulnerable. But if there people love me, that should accrue some additional war weariness or whatever the CIV 5 equivalent is.

This should also work for the player. If a neighbor CIV gives me gifts or gives in to my demands, my relationship with them should go up....making it more costly for me to go to war with them. This forces the human to behave more realistically, instead of not giving a crap about your relationship with another civ when going to war.

Not the way he's stating it. If you press F4 or whatever diplomacy is in civ4 worldbuilder, you can select someone else and then hover over yourself and see what you would think of them if you were an AI. He's proposing that those things have an effect - right now, you can go to war with your BFF (as long as there is no permanent alliance/vassalage) as easily as you can go to war with your Worst Enemy Forever.

I see, but aren't they removing the visible diplomacy from Civ V?

And isn't this a step in the other direction?
