Ideas for possible next expansion

I would like to see some dynamics in the game that encourages you to want to stay small. I am getting sick of the bigger is always better concept. The maintanence setup is good, but I am after more bonuses/benefits that would be lost if you were to expand. Here are some ideas:

*a uniqueness bonus. The greater the Wonder to the number of cities ratio, the more unique your empire is. This will inturn give you massive bonuses to growth, productivity, commerce, diplomatic relationships, etc. Greater xp for units built (higher morale). Increased trade and increased number of trade routes. Faster wonder construction for cities that already have wonders. Automatic Open Borders with all civs (for better or for worse). Population boom. Etc. All of these bonuses diminish or disapear as the Wonder to number of cities ratio gets smaller. A large empire will never be able to get these bonuses.

*a small empire that proves its leadership skills will be entrusted with another leaders decision making so that you will control their empire. Make decisions that result in your gain and their loss and you will loose that priviledge. The smaller the power rating over your entrusted leader, the better. If you start to grow in power faster than they do, then it signifies that you are getting more out of the deal (by taking tech and not sharing it, similar with gold and resources, etc). This can happen to multiple leaders so that it effectively creates a massive diplomatic empire that can fall apart if the power that is given to you is abused. The smaller your empire here, the better. A large empire will not be able to achieve this.

*have other bonuses that can ONLY be gained by being small. Expand and those bonuses diminish or disapear all together.

I would like to see the technological breakthroughs again as a catch-up mechanism. If you attack a backwards civ with a high-tech unit and that high-tech unit loses, the backwards civ has a chance to analyse the unit and discover a technology.

I'd like to see siege units as an offense unit only, which can be stolen if it's not properly defended (like in civ3).

Yes, I to would like to see a civ 3 siege weapon setup.

Watiggi, I agree. There should be somthing that encurages less empire growth. Even know with the systems in place a large empire can use it's shear size as a money maker.

I think exploration and diplomacy are good themes for the next exp

Exploration as a trait would be hard but her are ideas

Most exploration lead to colonizing so u get less maintenece for building cities far away

Ships get better line of sight or 1 movement

Goodie huts give u more than uasully

Better against Barbarians

I would love a Nomadic trait. I have listed the bonuses elsewhere and in reality the bonuses are irrelevent provided they reflect the nomadic ideal, but I would love to see that in the game. I think that would be cool. :)

I would like to see bomber/fighter having the ability to destroy roads. Navy should be beefed up, with easier blockade of enemy coastal city, put a naval unit inside his city radius, and he cannot work any water tiles or receive bonus from oversea trade route.
There should be more resources, but with their placement more unique, meaning, you might find a tiny island in some obscure place that has an unique resource, making the island important.

Dida, great idea. I would like my aircraft to be able to bomb roads/rails, & the idea of the ships stopping coastal working.
Oh! Great resource ideas. I only wish I knew more Python.
