Idiot Incoming, How can I change game options mid-game (assimilation)?

I purposely set it on game start and not on loading so that people can still adjust in game through wb.

Or we just add the use of NotOnGameOption to the 'All units, bonuses and buildings etc...' as well. If there's an info type without NotOnGameOption we need to get the tag in there anyhow. I can add those and it's important to do - it's just something I'd have to think about at an appropriate time to do it.

If they units, promotions, buildings etc. depend on the techs then if the techs switch eras things become simpler as you don't have to hunt for all the dependent other things and change them.

Also we can have many options to end the game sooner - NO_RENAISSANCE would force NO_INDUSTRIAL would force NO_MODERN would force NO_TRANSHUMAN would force NO_GALACTIC.

You don't have to remove/hide any techs to end the game sooner with NO_RENAISSANCE (etc.): Just make Time/Mastery victory trigger when Gunpowder (and/or similar) tech is researched...;) ie. when the advance to the Renaissance would have been triggered for any civ.

(Assumes Time and/or Mastery victory are enabled, but without them 'end the game sooner' has no meaning in this context.)

I think "No Future Eras" is more either for people who want to pretend they're playing unmodded BtS when they play a mod (I can understand that...) or people with an aversion to speculation about future techs (assuming my dad isn't the only one).

Some may also wish to experience a given era more thoroughly, like the Medieval for example, and thus would like the game to pause all further development there. Since we're developing this thing gradually from the start of the game inward I can certainly see players making that choice not to pass a particular point where they feel our mod design hasn't been very well polished yet too.
