Also Cuba would be conquered by now and so would all the tiny islands in the Pacific.

Only cities with a lot of mines and mineral deposits around them would have banks, stock exchanges, or universities. Agricultural cities would have been building a bank for the last 70 years.

You build a Tank, but it takes 5 years to get it into combat.
Your Marines get an ouchie, and spend 3 years resting in a captured city.
