If you had to split up India...

So, I know a bunch of people want a civ that splits up India into two different civs. I was just wondering what people wanted that split to look like, or if most people are fine with only India. Give me some ideas for civs to post in a poll, because I only know the Kushans, the Mughals, the Cholas, and the Tamils and I assume there are more options that people would like than that. Even if you don't like a certain choice, if you find it legitimate post it so I can put it in a poll.

The way I would like it would be Mughal,Martha Confederacy, and the Kushans. This would allow for 1 warmonger civ, 1 trade civ, and 1 culture civ.

Hey, I just realized I don't know how to add a poll. Can someone tell me how? I've done it before, but I can't seem to find the place to do it.

Not sure about Indian history much but Mughals are well known as are the Mauryans. One focusing early, one late although both might be more war biased and that opposes the current one. Maybe Mughals could be war/trade while Mauryans be faith based.

With Hinduism being practiced by nobles, Asoka being Buddhist and Chandragupta converting Jain they could have a UA letting them use bonuses from all religions in a city?

I really would love to play as Mughal Empire. they might have faster build bonus and their UU would be Turco-Mongol "Yiğit"

The simplest split would be between North (Indo-Aryan) India (so pretty much what we currently have), and South (Dravidian) India (probably represented as a Tamil or Chola civ). That's the simplest one I think. A few other invading groups, such as the Kushans or Mughals could be added as tertiary divisions, as well as a few other regions such as Bengal or Nepal, but the most important distinction that needs to be made is between north and south.

Can anyone tell me how to make this a poll? It didn't give me the option when I started this thread and I haven't figured out how to do it.

I would like to see India split up into normal India and maybe the Kushans or Mughals. It would have to be a a civilization that's not ethnically Indian, so groups like the Guptas or Mauryans are out because they are the quintessential Indian dynasties. I could see the Cholas working though.

What about Pakistan as a Civ?

I've heard this several times, but Pakistan is not a "civilization", having existed only for 65 years to date. The Indian subcontinent as a whole, though, has harbored civilization for a long period of time. If you want something resembling Pakistan, it should be Mughals or something else North Indian. Nor is India a Civilization, for that matter, having existed for one day less; it should be split up for CiV, just like we split Germans, Austrians, Danes, and Swedes.

You're right about Pakistan, but they've had Canada as a Civ too. But I like that India is just one Civ, like instead of having Prussia, Hesse, and Bavaria we have Germany.

There's a difference between splitting up India and splitting up Germany. The Germany represented in civ 5 is ethnically homogenous, whereas the India is civ 5 has several different parts to it. As an example, the Mughals (represented by the Mughal Fort) are ethnically different than the Guptas and Mauyras (which are both sort of represented by the War Elephant.) India several ethnic groups in it, while Germany has only one, so Germany is not a fair comparison to Germany. Indonesia, containing dozens of different ethnic groups, might be more fair, but you couldn't make a civ for each major Indonesia ethnic group, because none of them have been important enough in the region's history.

i'm not saying that i want 2 or 3 indonesian civ in one series of civ, but, there are at least 3 great ethnic groups that can be represented as important. Javanese (majapahit), thalasocratic, the one represented now; melayu (srivijaya), a wonder builder; and buginese, a master of the seas, new archeological proof shows that these people reached west coast of africa at the 1st millenium, trading maize from central america.
But if there is a civ to be split, then china and india screams the loudest, we need a reinasance chinese then a warmonger (mahabharata) india or ancient india.
