Barbaric - We just can't build any culture at all, with the exception of small wonders. IIRC, captured GW's don't produce any culture, correct? Well, with the notable exception of ToA.

Never even occured to me, I gotta pay more attention to the variants, I guess. That's gonna be very frustrating having those horses just outside of French London. I'd have to look again to see if we can build another city to grab them.
 
If we haven't built too many improvements just settler abandon.

Or you could build another town right on top.

Nothing actually got built, tho I did consider a rush or two. We should be able to switch to markets, but I think Bede was answering my frustration about the horses just outside our borders in England.

What's up with the embassy picture and 2 horses in China? They only had 4 total cities so they must've been close. Anyhow, with all the slaves a colony makes sense.

BTW thanks for waiting on China Sesn. I don't think the team would've been appreciative of me telling you to whack them with 2 turns left on a deal.
 
Beats me about the horses, but I also didn't really push into their territory since I only had archers I moved pretty slow.

As far as the two turns, well geez, I thought you were testing me. :p

The Persians took Chengdu out from under my nose after I came up an archer short on the assault. The Romans were helping out too.

After that disappointment made peace with China for Feudalism at a price of 22gpt though I got 51g from him as baksheesh.

Used Napolean to put the FP in Whompet's Gardens as we need the cultural expansiondown there. Pulled some settlers as far towns grew and settled Strasbourg to give us a canal from the Eastern tundra, and Brest to fill in hole NW of Canton. There is another settler on his way to claim some more furs to the north next to the Chinese cities which are not long for this world.

Gave the Romans an RoP as they were crossing our lands to get to the Chinese tundra towns anyway and kept blocking the roads.

Put a colony on the horses in Wales.

The bad news is that the Red Sox sank on the way to America.

Spent down the treasury rushing settlers in some of the unhappy towns and tried to balance the garrisons for cultural conversion risk and happiness. Also rushed some harbors, we need more!

There is a settler due in Cattlecanal. Use him to expand the borders a little and mitigate the flip risk over there.

We can buy Iron or Monotheism from the Iroquois but not both. Our cities are struggling to build horses so I'm not sure Maces are worth it, but it would be nice to have pikes.

Things are looking good. I think iron will sharpen our pointy stick more than Mono.
Bede are you saying to merge the settler in Bacon Town? Harbors. Check. Anything else we can think of?
I got it and will play Saturday.
 
I would put the settler in Scotland on the caost where the archer is standing. It will pull in more tiles to Cattlecanal and lower the flip risk there, at the price of a potential conversion unless we beef up the garrison in the new town.
