Igor1, team one thread

What's the economy like? Can we afford to build a few warriors for upg with the iron? Would be expensive upgrades at 90g, but just a thought.

The bad news is that the Red Sox sank on the way to America.
Yeah, well they sank in Baltimore too. What the hell was Nixon thinking? I don't know that I've ever seen someone get thrown out at second like that. :wallbash:

Pre-turn Look at trading for iron and realize it would virtually bankrupt us. I think I'd like to "go east young man" and see if we can clear some fog. Instead I trade Hiawatha wines, 13gpt for mono and 13g. Trade mono 16gpt, 18g and mono to Liz for Invention. I think if we have LB's and Musketeers we may be ok.

IT Walk the dogs.
470 AD Bordeaux is founded.

IT go downstairs and get 2 avocados.
480 AD Rennes and Orleans founded. Rennes gets another fur. I can trade Hiawatha furs, dyes, 27gpt and 8g for gunpowder. We'll wait a minute...oh ok I'll get a white

IT oops need an onion now.
490 AD Gunpowder down to 26gpt and luxs.

IT Bon appetit'!
500 AD zzz

IT Honey, that was a lovely French mexican breakfast. Thanks.
510 AD Trade furs, dyes 25gpt for gunpowder, worker and 5g. Closest salt is in Virconium. Great.

IT They have to go out again?
520 AD Rheims planted on the horse colony.

IT Dodging and weaving with the Iroq. and Roman settlers.
530 AD Tours gets us two more furs in the tundra.

IT Wow a lot of nothing all the way around.

IT Liz starts Sistine.

SUMMARY
I built some galleys, some LB's, a few markets and cleared some fog out east. There is a settler headed towards the other horses by Chengdu/Canton. There's a galley almost ready to set sail to America again. Good luck. Pretty rough deal without iron or salt. We could really use the salt. OK gotta go. More honey do's.

First no iron and now no salt.

Arrows and rocks but I forgot about the polo team. What a powerful army you have Joan.

Virconium is the closest with salt but I have some units exploring the east to check it out. There seems to be some open space out that way.

Pretty sure that's me next.

I got it, not sure if I can play today or not.

No Sesn follows me.
MadV -
Bede -
Whomp - just went
Sesn - UP
Viper - On Deck
Tomoyo - out of order until 7/26

Sesn and I switched at one point.

I might not be able to play it if it gets to me soon... If you don't hear from me, please skip. ;(

OK, have to remember about this whole no culture business. Also need to find some salt that we can have. Looks like England has it all, they have three sources hooked up. Rome and Greece are the only other ones with a source hooked up. England will actually trade us one for wines, 14 gpt, and 300g. Might be worth it, but I’ll explore and try to find some.

IT – Romans destroy Mao. Egyptians start Cops.

Find some salt just on the far side of Hangchow. Not sure how quickly I can get a settler there. Income jumps up to 64 gpt with Mao leaving the game.

The NI MadViking goes down at sea. Course, now that Astronomy is out, everyone will be going over to the new world.

Iro begin Bach’s in the 600 AD IT. On the same turn I ship Liz furs, wines, and 209g for a supply of salt. It will be a while before we can get the supply hooked up, assuming we get to it first. Immediately change a bunch of military builds over to Mouseketeers.

In the next IT, the Aztecs settle on the little one tile island near Portugal. A ship in the area finds that they are up all visible techs.

Alex demands 42g, which he grudgingly gets.

Get our fourth furs hooked up, which can hopefully be used to barter with. With the furs, we can get Chivalry for around 500g, theology for 500+ and a few per turn, or chemistry for 500+ and 40 gpt. All prices approximate as I am going to leave it for the next player anyhow.

My last IT, the Aztecs begin Magellans. Squished salt town is founded. A horrible location, but it wasn’t meant to be a production powerhouse anyhow.

Recap: There is a settler near Forest City I couldn’t find a decent home for. There is a worker stack trying to get through to Salt town to road, but they’ll probably get the boot this turn. There is a couple two fers out there, with Rome and England not knowing Chemistry yet. We really need to sharpen our pointy stick. Maybe the four Persian cities that were Chinese would be a good choice for leverage. Couple more boats headed to try to reach America. Uncovered a lot more of Asia. Japan would seem to be on the ropes, given all the Iroquois and Persian units I have seen heading that way.

I think it goes back to MadV unless Viper is online.

Let's be very careful with our rep before declaring on someone. We don't want a coastal route to Liz severed by declaring on someone. It looks like we can road to the salt (squeeze play!) without an issue right now.

I'm feeling a little testy today so let's go :hammer: somebody and start our GA!!

I'm back... and it's not 7-26 yet... I think I messed up the calculations... :hmm:
