I'm fatigued and slowly losing interest...

Yea, I'm already over the excitement now. I've actually decided not to buy it on release though I'll get it eventually. I wouldn't have been able to help myself a month or two ago but now that things have gotten so quiet and toward the end I want to wait and see how it is. I still do like hearing about the changes though and I'm most looking forward to seeing how the old civs were tweaked.

p.s. I wish things hadn't been leaked. I feel like it ruined a lot of the buzz...

I played a lot of the scenarios I didn't play before on civ 5 and then went off and played eu3 - strangely I vassalised Venice as soon as humanly possible to relieve my anger over their civ inclusion - it was cathartic. I'll miss the old versions of those two games but I'm now keen to see how the new versions play out. i wish they would announce the last two civs officially now because it's all become an anticlimax.

They need to release a gameplay footage of the Shoshone or Venice.

Hold in there dudes!

Seriously, this is nothing. Star Wars The Old Republic opened its forums and began dribbling information in october 2008. That game was released in December 2011.

Waiting is not the end of the world, and i know it's frustrating, but if you're tired of discussing just don' post on the forums a while. I just do a little daily check, see if there's anything i'm interested in and pop off. :goodjob:

I discovered Crusader Kings II recently, and it's so addictive I hardly even wait for BNW anymore...

You'll get bored. The new expansion is so one sided for the Norse it's not even interesting. It takes 100x more skill to play as a Zoroastrian but they're easily obliterated off the map if you're not careful.

It is much better to lose some interest and lower your expectations where the release will at least meet it than to be one of those soooo excited with high expectations only to be disappointed because such expectations are ever rarely met.

This.

The main reason why people post 0-score or 1-star reviews like 1 day after their highly sought-after game came out is because they hyped themselves way too much and the expectations simply cannot be met realistically. The companies have much blame to take for this, but at the same time you are a consumer of information and able to restrict that intake. I know all the civs of BnW and some of the features, but I have not read into ANY of the in-depth analyses and explanations of how exactly stuff will work out because that would simply kill it for me.

Basically if you have no reason to downgrade the difficulty for a new expansion you just know too much about it (provided that the difficulty hasn't been altered).

Also because many are just trolls haha. I'm happy the last 2 civs are out now though, we get one final week of discussion and wonderment and then the game is here!

Oh, and it sucked more than prostate cancer once it came out. Don't forget that.

Compared to a lot of other games and releases, we are spoiled here. And the information released have been very good (just take a look at Arioch's site for proof) and when the game does come out, most will be able to fully play it.

But I have a feeling that there are some expecting BNW to be a strong trade/diplomacy-centric game. What will happen when they are on the same minor scale as religion and espionage, with more manipulative exploits (but not as bad as they were in civ4)? Will those sit in the rants thread or will they work with what is given and enjoy the game (I guess modding would be an option, if that's your thing)?

I often have this morbid thought about the few poor souls who get excited about a game, then it takes so much time to come out that they actually die before it's released. Like that kid who was a huge Borderlands fan and died before the release of 2, and they named a character in it after him. Considering that Civ probably has an older population of fans (and probably a lot with questionable health habits involving kraft dinner and not enough sleep ;) ), there are probably a few fans who kicked the bucket during spring 2013. I guess I'm weird.

The slow leaks actually got be back into playing Civ V again last week. I'm still working slowly through a Babylon Continents game on Prince, and doing much better than I used to, thanks to some tips from various sources.

I still haven't played any of the scenarios. Need to run those soon, but I'll probably put off the ones I haven't done before BNW comes out. Really interested in the Shoshone!

I didn't even read about GK until it came out because I was so underwhelmed by vanilla I just didn't care about the franchise anymore. Then I played it and it was practically a new game. The myriad amount of new features was probably what did it for me. The only disappointing aspect of GK are the spies, but so far, BNW seems to be a much bigger and more ambitious project than GK.

I remember in the beggining when I was so excited for BNW that I was so desperate. Now it seems as if this expansion is boring and won't be interesting :(:(

Then adjust your expectations. Too much anticipation can ruin your enjoyment pretty easily, so why not focus on something else? It's not that far away.
