I just started a game as India on this map and conquered pakistan in one turn By the way, why do india, canada, and one other that I forgot have three civ traits on this map?

Excellent to tell you the truth I have no idea I'll have to fix that

I know you've finished the game, but I have another approach you might have tried. If you could spare more than ten units with good defense values, a sneak attack by troop transport on China's southeastern coast might have worked well for you. It may turn out that it's a suicide attack for those forces, but they may succeed in razing a city or destroying some improvements. More importantly, they'll probably draw Chinese forces away from the main battle line, or divert enough replacement troops that you could have broken through in the mountains.

I've had mixed results with this strategy. For it to be successful, you really need to land at least 8, and more like 12 troops. A mix of fast units and strong defenders is best.

Also, if you can find a spot where valuable resources are within a turn of the coast, you can seriously hinder their production...
