I'm lost......

I have been playing beyond the sword for a while now (a few months), and just stumbled on the fact that there are mods for this game. I am not good with technical computer stuff as you have probably guessed!! I have spent literally hours trying to wade through the different mod possibilities, and it seems that I want to install the Rise of mankind mod. I don't know which version I should be installing, or which patches I need as it seems there are many. Can anyone help please and tel me what I should be downloading?

I have a few other probs as well - do some of these mods only work with certain versions of the game (i.e. Warlords, BTS) as I can't seem to get many to work at all. Thanks.

I think that RoM only works with BTS, and the newest version 3.7 (I think that's the latest, it's hard to tell really) needs BTS to be patched to 3.19. You just need the core mod to play, and it self installs.

There are a whole bunch of expansion packs for it as well. I would check the creation and customization forum for the RoM threads and see what is going on there, if I were you.

Some advice: RoM is sort of an "Everything but the kitchen sink" mod, and uses a lot of system resources. It needs a powerful computer on anything larger than standard maps, and has a very steep learning curve. Move down a level or two for your first few games, because it is very very complex. You've been warned.
