I'm Needing Some Important Help!!

I've been having problems with my CIV3 game.

Let me explain:
I put the disk into the drive and double click the icon to start the game. (obviously).
But then once the game begins loading up it jus goes blank! Before I've even reached the intro. I've found the game only works if I'm lucky, but I've now gone two days without a solution.
I've tried re-installing the game millions of times over without success.
My only guess is that my disk is damaged as this never happened when I first got the game, I guess I may have been far too clumsy which is very unusual for me.

Does anyone else experience this problem, and is their a solution other than buying the game again?

I had a similar problem on my old computer. The menu would come up and then the loading screen would appear and then disappear and nothing would happen. I can only play it now on my new computer...

try copying the bink32.dll (sp?) from the cd into your civ3 folder and overwrite the one already in there. Thats how I got mine to work properly
