Imperialism II PBEM

Is everything alright with Northerner? I believe both of the active PBEM's will likely wither and die if he just vanishes...

My homeland has had very few days of summer this year. Last night I sat and watched the midnight sun linger long on the horizon. I did not think of my computer then.

But tonight the wind turned again and the cold rains and dark clouds that ever keep this cursed land company return. I fear I shall not keep you waiting again this summer, the weathermen say the cold will be lasting now.

French Cavalry subdue tribal capital in Africa.

@voltar
The French request the following internal travel in America:

French request permission to sail a steam yacht up the Mississippi to (214,68) and then back to (217,75), and to occupy (212,68) with a Mfg Goods for delivery to Oklahoma city.

The French also request permission to land a Mfg Goods on (228,62) beside Washington DC for delivery to Pittsburgh on the following turn. We can use an alternate square, but (228,62) looks like it shouldn't give you ZOC problems.

@Northerner
I sympathize with you regarding the summer. Got to grab it while you can! Here in Wales it's been fairly decent with plenty of sunny days, but the weather is constantly changing. One day a heatwave, the next the monsoon.:cool::(:crazyeye:

Will play turn shortly.

Actually, Northerner, there's a territory in Canada called Nunavut that has similar patterns of daylight by year - in the northernmost islands of it, it's almost solid day to varying degrees for all of summer and almost solid night for all of winter. That territory is still quite a ways to the north of my home city of Edmonton, though.

Okay, a bit of a hitch here. My free trials of WinRAR and WinZip have both expired for this particular computer. While I have a program that will UNZIP such programs free of charge, can someone please suggest a shareware program that zips files in some format unzippable by most of these type of programs so I can continue to post my saved games in a zipped format. It seems all the sham sites have figured out how to dominate the top searches on Google on the issue.

Thank-you. I'll get this posted tonight.

So, I got this freeware program working, but it's zipping UI is MUCH less intuitive than it's unzipping UI, and there's scant documentation, so, after wrangling with it a few days, I think I've figured it out. But, posting after being up around 48 hours, I'm going to put it up tomorrow. But, however, this should mean zipping programs won't delay the posting of my future turns.

My humble apologies for my tardiness. I shall endeavour to be more punctual henceforth.

Who's up next?

French gunboat attacks and defeats tribal capital on the coast south of Ulundi.

French Cavalry defeat native horses outside of Oran.

The French Empire are changing government policy! Citizens await the results with expectation. (IE, French have revolution, so you may want to wait to deliver any Mf Goods. I only just noticed that I have access to Statue of Liberty.)

@Northerner
BRITAIN: The French assume that the Suez Canal is open to all traffic. If this is not the case, please clarify as soon as possible. Also, your Mf Goods outside Paris may wait an extra turn to make the delivery if you desire.

@voltar
AMERICA: French landed a Mfg at 226,60 since our intended square 228,62 was occupied. We hope this is OK.

@McMonkey plays next.
