Why is the Libya thing so important to you? the peoples militia aren't even a threat to Rome, much less Indonesia.

We have our reasons.

Claims.

Explain the reasons.

The People's Militia is not a threat whatsoever to Indonesia.
The Platonic Republic's crimes against humanity is what worries us.

The actions conducted by the Platonic Republic in Thessaloniki is a proof that they are unable to handle things in a respective, humane, and acceptable way under international laws.

They insisted that they have done it the right way under the umbrella of their ideology.
What the Platonic Republic did in Vietnam is almost no difference with what the Japanese had done in Vietnam and China.

While the issue in Vietnam is already too late to be solved, we believe that the issue in Libya can still be solved if the Platonic Republic are willing to solve it through diplomacy. Indonesia shall use its current neutrality in the Vietnam War to keep the Platonic Republic in check, as most nations are currently busy in Vietnam, nobody will pay attention to what crimes the Platonic Republic will do.

Platonic Republic's desire to cooperate with Indonesia in many economical development must be returned by their willingness to cooperate and resolve their issue in Libya together, so that things would go in a way acceptable to all of us.

It would be better for us if nations like Rome would stop supporting the Platonic Republic by transferring the results of the technological or economical cooperation with Indonesia, that Indonesia uses as a dealing card with the Platonic Republic.

Additionally, Indonesia accepts Malacca's offer of jointly developing better military equipment.

We are essentially interested in developing an effective RC system for our missiles, like the Vestproof, similar to what the Ambalat System seems to have. In a similar fashion, we are interested in the development of an algae-oil specific version of the traditional diesel-electric naval engine. Right now this is a universal need that has not been addressed, which is the cause of low efficiency in fuel consumption and performance in general.

It is in this circumstance that we announce that the recently commissioned FSS Arrow is a salvaged nuclear submarine. Its state of decay make identification impossible, but more likely than not it was a development of the French Barracuda-class. The Arrow is notably smaller and more compact, with a length of 81.4 metres, a beam of 7.9 metres and a draught of 7 metres. The Arrow was salvaged almost three years ago, and all work on it has consisted on cleaning, refuelling and examining. Although Malacca lacks the technology to reproduce the ship entirely, naval designers are working on less sophisticated versions. In spite of these difficulties, the main obstacle is that the cost of the vessel is presumed to be around the billion pounds. On top of that, research and the construction of specialised facilities for its construction would at the very least double the cost. The Arrow is thus, in principle, a unique vessel. Once the war with Vietnam concludes, it will be decommissioned and disassembled entirely to better study it.

Even then, the Arrow is probably the most advanced submarine in the world. Although a single ship doesn't generally make a difference and the electronics it has been equipped with are probably less impressive than the originals, the existence of a true submarine will immensely help naval operations in the South China Sea. In sea trials, the sound signature of the Arrow was practically imperceivable to our own sonar equipment. Although these trials have not concluded, the haste on its recommissioning is justified by the war against Japan.

the Platonic republic already promised to try and limit civilian casualties. and in response, we added the Militia to the list of valid military targets. they stopped being civilians when they touched a gun.

and, there was nothing to be done in Thessaloniki. the majority of the people in that city turned up armed. what could they do? they had to storm in and retake the city. they cant just turn back and besiege the city, which would have them all dead anyway.

and, the Roman Empire will prevent Indonesia from trying to keep them in check. best leave them be.

The Bandung Institute of Technology is currently in progress in researching a method to improvise the combustion and intake of traditional engines so that efficiency can be increased. Right now, unmodified traditional engines are capable of being used with Algae fuels albeit the inefficiency, the Bandung Institute of Technology will transfer the results of the research so far to Malacca so that they do not need to start from scratch. Though for Naval Vessels, Indonesia would recommend nuclear fuels such as Hydrogen or Thorium power instead.

Regarding the Submarine development, Indonesia is interested to take part;
as Indonesian naval buildup plans would consist mostly of fast-small-raider submarines.

We still believe that the issue in Thessaloniki can be resolved in a better way; understanding that the rebels in Thessaloniki resisted against Platonic rule is due to the social issues and equality that exist. Something, that Indonesia fought for.

Indonesia is very disappointed that Rome backed off in this issue, after Rome's early promises to safeguard Thessaloniki if the Platonic Republic doesn't resolve the issue accordingly.

Since Indonesia is unable to commit themselves into an issue half-way around the world without regional support that we hoped from Rome, we will agree to back off from this issue. We shall no longer disturb Rome, nor the Platonic Republic.

But this will not come without consequences.

We hereby cancel all offers that we recently offered to the Platonic Republic as a form of cooperation and we also decided to halt the former agreement on Energy development with Rome after this hypocritical decision they've made until further notice.

Basically, our interest in the development of the algae naval engine is to replace the conventional diesel-electric propulsion that most of our ships still use, but specially for its application in submarines. It has been found that conventional engines running on algae fuel are more noisy, which makes submarines more easily detectable.

In fact, the roles you want to develop submarines for would probably be best fulfilled by oil-electric submarines.

There's no inefficiency regarding engines due to the fact that you're burning the exact same compounds. What's inefficient is the actual production of algal fuel.

I love this thing you do and I hate you for it.

Forgive us for the mistake;
To prevent it, we, again, remind you that we offer a cooperation treaty
to develop energy and weapons.

brb, gonna throw diesel into a gasoline engine car, let's see what happens.

But it's the same components you're burning!

I'm glad that you didn't go on a long explanation as to why it's not. I'm sorry for this exchange, because it's just me going to absurd lengths to avoid admitting that I was just inventing stuff. I did in fact a couple years of a subject called "Technology" in which we touched upon the subject of engines and fuels, although I can't quite recall much about that.

In major ports in Japan and China, a huge new naval armada is being created. Tens of new powerful battleships are being constructed, as Japan puts it's entire industrial might into expanding it's navy. Using hundreds of thousands of Chinese cheap labor and Chinese resources, the project has had immense success and the new armada will soon be able to join the fight against the Imperialists.

Takeshi Ruchang appointed Shogun:

A5HL5Ei.png

Knowing of the need for a strong and unified leadership, Takeshi Ruchang, leader of the liberal Democratic Party of Japan and Prime Minister of Japan, has passed a resolution in the Japanese Diet, with the support of the Emperor, according to which democratic elections and institutions are suspended until the end of the war, martial law is established, Takeshi is given absolute power and command of the nation's armed forces and he is appointed Shogun (Commander-in-Chief of the Expeditionary Force Against the Barbarians). The vote was able to pass with a huge majority, as the Nationalist Party, the majority of MP's of the Socialist Party and the Republican Party voted in support of the resolution, while only the Green Party, the Communist Party and and some MP's of the Socialist Party voted against it. Now, Takeshi Ruchang has absolute control of the entire Japanese Empire and has stated that he shall command the Japanese Navy in Vietnam by himself.

The majority of the population (almost 80%) has expressed it's support for those measures, as Takeshi has gained much respect because of his expansion of Japan and the victories against the UN Navy. The only act of resistance was a protest organized by the Communist Party, which did not have any support and only 6,000 citizens protested. The protest, in accordance to the military law, has been crushed with 300 protestors dead, 700 injured and 3,000 arrested. Most of the Japanese population (87% according to several statistics) has supported the reaction of the Government, as the Communists are seen as traitors to the nations and those who want peace are seen as selling off their nation and supporting the Barbarians.

*cough* Ships usually take more than two months to build, let alone design, fit, launch, equip and commission.

OOC: They are on construction phase right now.
