Inca - or perhaps just a red herring

Also notice the civ colors here:

Doesn't the iPad version only have the base game on it? It could be a typo and they meant to say India. They also said copper is a luxury resource.

Well isn't already out so it won't be that hard to check

Here's a hi-res version of the central part of the image:

This image has been around for over a year now, so it looks like a zoomed-out version of early Civ VI promo material.

In Civilization 6, you are the leader of a nation, like Egypt, England or the Inca.

The way it was worded makes it seem like nothing more than a figure of speech.

Those are China’s pre-release colors and Chinese buildings.

And yeah, iPad version won’t have R&F anytime soon, so I wonder how much fact-checking the reviewer did.
I was referring to the black and green civ at the southwest (probably recolored Australia)

Black and green are indeed the Australian colors as of the last RnF livestream. Still the image is all the way from October 2016 promo material, so I wouldn't put much weight into it.

I mean, I guess it might mean something, but given the circumstances I think it's more likely to just be them assuming that a civ as regionally important as the Inca couldn't possibly have been excluded from the game. If they didn't feel the need to double-check that, we'd get this.

It's not like most video game websites have particularly high standards to begin with these days, and considering that we're dealing with a tablet port of a PC game, I can't imagine they'd be more rigorous than usual. If we were dealing with a review of R&F, or even a version that's likely to receive it soon, I'd view it as more meaningful. The Inca should absolutely be in this expansion regardless, but probably without any relevance to this.

I thought you were talking about the top left ´new city´-shaped 8-hexes in white/burgundy-ish colors. It reminded me of Inca colors in game. But then I realized the only game that uses similar colors for inca is EU.

Also, someone will point out to me which current civ those colors already belong to very soon, I presume.

The article has been edited, sorry folks looks like it was just a typo

The black and green color was the colour-code of militaristic city states pre-release. This screenshot literally was around in one of the very first batch of screenshots released before Civ6 came out.

That is a screenshot from Europa Universalis 4.

Inca stronk! (Doesn't usually turn out that way, of course, except when a human player is Inca.)

What game is that screenshot from? Looks interesting!
EU --> Europa Universalis IV. Eu is somewhat comparable to Civ, but the games start in set time periods and are not turn based. And much more war. There are people who call EU by it's charming nickname: "The Genocide Simulator"

Edit: yeah, I didn't read Browds post ^^
