This forum needs a DLC/scenario guide (if there is one I can't find it :( )

Anyways, I was wondering what the Americas scenario consists of. Is it just the Iroquois/Aztecs/Inca and Spain/France/England as civs? Are there any modded units? etc. It seems weird to have an Americas campaign without Portugal or the Mayans but the video implied that there were only the civs from the game itself.

Its the only DLC i was thinking of getting-the Incans seem to have a really unique structure as a civ and they seem like a lot of fun, though I've heard this Korean DLC is a lot of fun too.

No modded units, it's like a random map except you can get points by sending a caravel to China, there are some new techs, and scurvy hurts your ships (slowly drives their health down) while they're at sea, though they can heal near your ports.

The Inca are great, Korea likewise. The Korea scenario is really challenging. O_o

Don't buy the DLC for the scenario. Basically you just need to conquer two native cities and you win. Yawn.

This is about it. There aren't any modded units or new civs.

I like the mechanics in this scenario but I wasn't a big fan of how simplistic the scenario was overall. I would have been a lot more impressed if there had been more civs and a larger map (and much faster units when embarked to avoid barges of doom).

This sums it up fairly accurately.

yeah, there is the privateer.

the scenario can be a fun game. Apparently they just 'balanced' it, but I haven't checked to see how.

I do have some scenario overview vids on my Youtube channel.

I can recommend Maddjinn youtube channel, you can find a scenario review. Goes in pretty heavy detail and he played it out once as the incans in one of the previous patches.

I've started a game with the Incas. That's more fun/challenging than my game with Spain. The scenario might be worth playing after all. ;)

It consists of no modded units, simply the Spanish, English, and French building colonies on a randomly generated map while trying to look for China.

Once again, the scenario has the Privateer and several techs not available in the standard game.

Yeah, too bad it's not the Privateer of old where you can harass others anonymously.

Anyway, the scenario is fun. It's not as ambitious as some of the past "New World" scenarios but it goes by fairly quickly and is entertaining. You can gain VP via treasure from finding wonders/gain VP from visiting China, but most of it will probably come from pillaging a native civ's cities and taking the treasure that spawns as a result.

You get 2 Civs and a scenario, so it's a pretty good deal. Korea/Ancient Wonders of the World would also be worth a look. I'm playing the Korean scenario and it's quite entertaining.

Played as China Japan and Korea, it was easy >_> but very fun (Played on Emperor)
