My workers seem to be on double-time all of a sudden. I'm playing in 'Regent' mode and my government type is currently at Democracy. Suddenly my workers are clearing pollution with 2 workers and completing railroads and mines using 1 worker in 1 turn. I have been playing quite a while and never seen this. It's great, but anybody know what's happened?? (In the past it's been roads in 1 turn, railroads in 2, and pollution is 4 workers in 1 turn)

Workers get really fast if you're an Industrious civ, in democracy, after researching Replaceable Parts. Your 'home grown' workers will also always work faster than captured ones.

To put in in the simple words of civ2. . .

If government = Democracy, and attribute = industrious, then

Workers Go Fast

If government == Democracy AND attribute ==industrious AND tech level >= replacable parts

THEN workers go REALLY FAST
