If you look in southern South America, just before the plains stop and the desert begins, you'll see a place where the river meets the sea. It should have some forest, some grassland and some prarie there. It's a nice place for a colony- you can get cotton, tobacco, and maybe even sugar there. And there's a relatively good chance there will be a cotton thing, tobacco leaf, or a tree there for extra cotton, tobacco or timber. I highly suggest it. (I'd get a screen shot if I could find my copy of Colonization.
