Infantry Fighting Sound Origin

I was watching Monty Python and the Holy Grail when i realized that the infnatry fighting sound in Civ 2 was the exact same sound as in the fighting scene with the 2 knights in the 12th minute of the movie! It was unmistakingly the same. See for yourself, it is really cool.

yes its true.You'll hear some other sounds from time to time.There must be some kind of sound "bank" that is used for basic stuff...or was used anyways.

I'm not sure about the times at which the movie and the game came out, but do you think civ 2 got the sound from the movie, or the movie got the sound from the game?

well that movie was way before Civ2, or Civ1, for that matter so, if anything,the game got it from the movie.

I beleive the movie was made in the 70s..late 70s.
