Ingame Editor

When i selected the worker on the city panel of IGE; it showed a blank; like its nothing there. But moving the mouse over the blank i seen England Worker (playing under spain.)

My warrior when selected on the city panel of IGE all it shows is " , shield 6" When i move my mouse over that i get to see "England Warrior"

Its not even my units its my rival units as well. there scouts " , shield 4" settlers: " ".

Ah, ok, thank you for the clarification. Actually, on my version, it was already solved, hence why I couldn't see anything wrong. In v18 I accidentally introduced a bug that corrupt many strings everywhere in IGE, not just on the units panel (look at the tooltips for resources for example). Actually I never realized it was also affecting the units panel. I will release the next version once I've been able to sort out the missing icons problem.

Unfortunately there were no holidays for me but things were smoother than usual, it's a nice time of the year. We even got a nice skin for those forums. :)
 
Sorry no reply. Haven't had a chance to check but 1600x900 maybe? My laptop has a decent size screen... once I have a chance to test your fix ill be sure to let you know. Thanks for all the effort!

confirmed: 1600x900. V19 does not fix. Still totally functional, but the images are not there (as previously).

Thank you for the answer but, damn, it really puzzles me. I thought it was a problem with the filenames (Civ5 sometimes confuses filenames if they only differ by a suffix added to one of them) and/or the layout tweaks for low resolutions (since there are smaller icons for lower resolutions).

Since it's none of that, I think it only leaves a problem with your system. I strongly suspect a bug with graphics drivers. What is your GPU please? (run "dxdiag" if you're unsure, form "start menu > run") Do you see *all* of the following pictures and, if you don't, which ones are missing?
* The gray cross on the tooltip for the "none" entries (on terrain panels, one entry for resources, one entry for improvements, etc).
* The blue dot on the terrain panel (edition) for tiles with an inbound/outbound river (see the picture on the first thread if you're unsure, it shows two rivers connexions).
* The five icons on top of IGE (for camera, fog, close, etc).

Also, here is another version of IGE with an alternative texture, please tell me if it works on 1600*900. You will need to restart civ5 I guess.

Finally, please, do not update your graphics drivers right now. While a more recent version could fix the problem I would like to find a workaround for users who have the buggy drivers.

Version 19 has been released.

Bugfixes
* Fixed a text notification bug for golden ages introduced in v15.
* Fixed textual bugs introduced in v18 (especially on the units panel and the yield bonuses on tooltips).
* May fix the missing textures problems on old/limited graphics card, or with buggy drivers.



So, since v18 had those annoying bugs since a couple of days now, I didn't want to wait any longer. I guess it will fix the missing textures problem, so everything should be fine. Now, for the story about the missing textures, old graphics card (or ones with buggy drivers) could only handle textures which size was a power of two. And some of IGE's textures aren't. Civ5 doesn't matter about it in some cases (because it performs an automatic resizing) but it seems like it does sometimes. So I just enlarged the non-power-of-two textures' canvas, let's hope it works. If I'm wrong, well, I will just continue to try to figure it out. Whatever the result is, please, keep me informed.
 
Don i'm sure but Ingame editor mod doesn't like the adding the celtics mod. All i get was mod can't start up if having problems with this mod clear cache (did that) or might be another mod doing it. after deactiviting the celtics mod it was all fine.

I tested the current mod with the problems and so far so good.
 
Hello Mars83, I guess you mean "-The Celts- (v3)"? Because there wasn't a "adding the celtics" mod neither on the mods browser nor on Google. So, yeah, it's because there is a spelling mistake in "the celts"' files (TERRAIN_HILLS instead of TERRAIN_HILL).

Thank you for the report, I made IGE tolerant against it and you can find it as an attachment below. However I won't release it publicly right now, I decided to wait at least a week between two versions. Always downloading new versions is boring for the user and seeing a "version number 19" is ridiculous enough when it should just be "2.2.3". ^^

First off, great job. I can't imagine the time it's taken to do all this work.

Second, I'm using v19 and I've had trouble with the IGE changing the entire map to "explored" and removing the fog after exiting the IGE. Beyond visual range still hides foreign units, but that's it.

I've tried re-painting hexes as "unexplored", but as soon as I click on the 2nd one, the previous hex reverts to "explored". I haven't been able to get the 7-hex paint function or the r-click and drag to work for "unexplore" either. I figured the click and drag would open a box like in other programs, but I don't see anything. Am I doing something wrong?

Is there by any chance some way to create an "unexplore all" function? If you can't, I understand. It's just annoying.
 
Hello Corwin and welcome on CivFanatics. :)

1./ Foreign units are hidden because of the "fog of war", this is a different thing than "fog". On the players panel, you do have two buttons, "explore" and "glance at map", the latter one also disables the fog of war and trigger diplomatic contacts. The UI isn't very clear because there is another "glance at map" button somehwere else that does a different thing and they mistakingly share the same name and tooltip. So, in the new version, I renamed the button on the players' panel to "reveal all" and updated its tooltip.

2./ I indeed found a bug in the "inexplore" command, thank you. Please try the attached version below and tell me whether it works for you (I couldn't reproduce your bug but I observed another one and I guess they're both variations of a common problem).

3./ An "Unexplore all" feature? Granted, I just implemented it!


On a sidenote, yes, it took time. But programming is my job so not as much time as you may imagine. ;)
Besides, I am an independent programmer and it means I work at home (good for being responsive) and I do have an irregular schedule (on some weeks I don't have much to do or I want to take a break).
Finally, lua is very far from my usual languages (c# / c++), so it helds some interest for me, it gives new perspectives.

before hand it was Celts v1 i haven't tried v3...I don't mind waiting for a week or 2. I'm not going miss the celts too much. as i got Rohans and the Mattias.
 
Oh thank you very much for v19. The icons finally work :) This bugged me since ~v13. In v12 (or something) it did work strangely.

Noooo ^^ I just love new versions. I check for updates nearly every day ;)

Sorry about the missing icons, but I wasn't even aware of the problem until very recently. It bothers me that IGE had such a big problem for so long.

On the updates, well, you can still download them from this thread to get them in advance (they're labeled beta but are actually ready to ship) but now it will be more like a friday's update or so. ;)
