oh by the way it seems i found a bug aswell

the option rightclick on IGE- KEY_IGE_SHOW_RESOURCES does not work. he shows resources whether the option is enabled or disabled.

KEY_IGE_SHOW_YIELDS does work correctly.

Regarding the captions too long, I tried to stretch the UI a bit unfortunately it is very inelegant. I would like to suggest some possible shortcuts:
* Replace "runden" by a simple "r" for "Goldenes zeitalter (10/250 Runden)". That would do the trick.
* "Wir lieben den König": we could either use the same trick (I would still have to stretch the UI a bit). Or maybe use another word like Stadtfest (I used a word meaning "collective joy" in French that sounded adequately). Sure, the user may ask "WTH" for a moment but we just need a word that will make him vaguely think about the "we love the king day" until the tool tip can confirm his intuition.
* "Stadtverteidigung wiederherstellen". Maybe just "wiederherstellen" or "regenerieren" or something like that? The user already knows he is in the city panel, and therefore that the feature is about the city, so we probably can afford a word that, outside of this context, would sound rather vague.

Those are mere suggestions, I am not familiar enough with the German language to evaluate them, so I will end up trusting your judgement. But surely the user is less interested about something perfectly clear and gramatically correct than something he can learn to appreciate, which also means not 300 pixels wide buttons.

I understand. I've actually already starting removing snippets of code looking for the problem. I will also mention this happens every time, so I can attempt to find the bug. Will keep you up to date.

Honestly, it's going to be very hard to give you proper indications to try to find the place of the crash if you don't know programming. If you do, well, you know what you have to do anyway: comment out further elements, and the corresponding LUA functions (that's the tricky part for non-programmers), until everything starts without causing LUA errors and crashes. Then uncomment and find the tricky part. If you insist I can try to give you examples until you understand the LUA logic, or you can send me your lua.log that will probably be different from Leisun's while very likely as useless as his. But, really, you should better send crash reports to Firaxis and Microsoft (your video card's drivers publisher can access the MS db and is notified when an error occurs within their drivers), then wait for them to fix things up. Unreproducible crashes are just out of modders' hands, we are powerless against them.

PS: IGE_ControllerCore.lua also contains a big deal of the core application logic and triggers some events on startup.

I'm not sure what I could provide, all I'm doing is testing it with my wonders, nothing else - so far Teotihuacan and Shwedagon Paya, they're the only ones post G&K so far.

For example I would like you to look at the lua log/Firetuner in order to spot a lua error. Because on my computer the wonder popups are correctly displayed.
 
Trying to start IGE in a Gods&Kings Into the Renaissance game, got an error message when pressing Ctrl-i.

"IGE couldn't start, probably because of another mod.

This was a game that was started without IGE loaded, I'm trying to play around with a save game.

Player nation is Austria in case it matters.

Addendum:
Tried start a new Into the Renaissance game with IGE loaded from the start, Ctril-i fails with the same error message too. However, clicking the *IGE* menu header in the top of the screen opens the editor interface. That might well have worked with the previous save file too, I'm completely new to IGE and just noticed that option just now. :)

I have only the IGE v27 mod enabled in G+Ks.
I had cleared the cache.
Either loading a saved game or creating a new one IGE crashes when clicking on IGE in the top bar or ctrl+i.
Read a few posts and enabled logging.

Hello! i got the Civ 5 game of the year edition plus G and K..using window 7 ulimate...playing the game on steam...i can right click on the IGE icon to see the menu...but whenever i want to use the mod and left click on it...my game crashes everytime...i updated my driver...i dont know what to do..it is soo stressful!!!! help please!
 
v28 beta 2 attached : included the German & Spanish translations with updated mod credits (will update them on Steam once it goes public), fixed all known bugs, more debug information to spot crashes, made a slight change to how techs are imported. I am slightly worried about the compatibility with big mods, please test the techs panel with your beloved mods and see if anything looks suspicious.

I slightly increased (20px) some buttons' width to restore margins, this was a small and acceptable sacrifice in order to give more breath to the UI. The German UI is fine for me now.

Thank you for your patience and reports so far. The new version will likely still crash but it has more debug informations to try to locate the cause of the problem. I would like you to enable the lua log again (look at post #2 on this thread) and provide one to me please.
I would need one log for PC and another one for Macs since the problems are likely to be different. So please mention which of those two you used if you post a LUA log.
Meanwhile, please send your crash reports (NOT lua logs) to Firaxis and, for PC users, to Microsoft (they will be sent to video card drivers when relevant).

ichiban604 - you are exactly describing my issue, only caveat is that I am on a Mac and using the App Store latest version ".674".

Three translations in a row?! This is Christmas before Christmas, thank you so much. :D
I tested it and everything works, I just added it on the beta3 below. Unfortunately, I do not think I can add an option to let you force IGE to use the ITA translations on a non-ITA Civ5. So if you want to enjoy IGE in ITA, you will need to have your game client in ITA or modify the files on every version to make IGE believes the ITA xml is the English one.
By the way, you only need the international version (UTF-8) for all civ5/windows editions (I guess you tried it on a ITA Windows, then on an English Windows).

Those look like very good news, far better than I was afraid of. :)
So here are some steps I would like you to follow...
  • Try the beta3 below. If it does not crash, well, this is great! Close and open IGE four times (IGE will save your game under IGE1, IGE2, IGE3, then overwrite IGE1). No crash yet? Perfect, everything is fine, just report it to me and do not bother further.
  • Otherwise, if it does crash at some point, provide me the lua.log.
  • Then disable autosave (right-click IGE) and try again.
  • If turning off autosave made the trick, please provide me copies of the mac version of those files (should be in the civ5 program directory) : "Assets/UI/FrontEnd/LoadMenu.lua" and "Assets/UI/InGame/Menus/SaveMenu.lua".

Honestly (I really need to know in order to fix things up), do you use a pirate/modified version of civ5?
Besides of that I will need a lua.log from beta 3 please.
