Ingame Editor

I can't get the IGE label to show up. I followed the link in the first post, but those instructions don't match the version of IGE_Window.xml in v 32, 36, or 37. There's something close:

<TextButton ID="MainButton" Anchor="R,T" Offset="340,6" Font="TwCenMT20" NormalState="Beige_Black" MouseOver="White_Black" ButtonDown="Beige_Black_Alpha"
String="TXT_KEY_IGE_IGE" ToolTip="TXT_KEY_IGE_IGE_HELP"/>

but I haven't gotten any effect bay changing the offset.

I'm playing G&K and BNW, and I have no other mods installed. When I enabled the mod, I didn't get any error messages, and Civ5 says that the mod is currently enabled. I was hoping to use this to make a slight change to a game-in-progress, but I also started a new game to see if that would help. The button isn't showing up in either case.

@IGeMiNix
Hello and welcome on CF. The box for the quantity if resources work fine. However the textboxes in civ5 are quite clumsy and you need to hit "enter" to validate the value you entered. I suggest you rather use the up and down arrows on the edges.

@Roidesfoux
You took a wrong approach: if you do not see the IGE label, this is not because of its location. Here is what I wrote on Steam about that. Anything I could tell you here would be a rephrasing of this.
  • I can't see the IGE label (1) It was not loaded: DO NOT CLICK "BACK"!
  • I can't see the IGE label (2) Sometimes civ5 loads no mods if one of the selected mods couldn't be loaded (for example a total conversion mod was enabled but you try to reload a savegame created without it).
  • I can't see the IGE label (3) Disable mods that have been removed from Steam, such as Hulfgar's postmodern expansion. Look for them on the web or CivFanatics and install them manually.

By the way I updated the first post and I am going to update the guide to move the IGE label.
PS: You can also try Ctrl + i to open IGE. If it does not open, the mod has not been loaded.

Yeah, problem was that I've never used a mod before, so I clicked "BACK". Thanks for the prompt response. And thanks for the great mod!

Thanks for the reply, I used the arrows this time and the values still does not change. Do I need to click the arrows and press enter?

Actually, I see what the issue is for me. When I paint the tile, the values don't change, I need to paint the tile and then edit the resource and then it changes. Anyways, thanks again.

Hey Don, have some problem related to the newest version of IGE.
Iam tryng to use IGE with a fixed version of CCTP and my Modcollection, cleared cache and all what is needed.
When iam in game i cant open IGE and i get the error message, when i click again on IGE the game freezes (not a crash) for ever.
Please help me, i need IGE so much for gametesting and bugfinding.

P.S. When starting CCTP i get a message a UI is not working (for CCTP), maybe this is the problem.

I received a gift on my steam account today: civ 4!

However there was no explanation and no sender was displayed, so I don't know if it comes from Valve, Firaxis or from an user of my mods.

So whoever sent it, many thanks to you. :D

Hello Gilgamesch.

It looks like an error on one of your buildings, probably a wrong specialist type. To know the faulty building, add "print(item.type)" before line 1015 in IGE_API_Data. Then look at the firetuner to see the building name before the error.

Great thanks.
No more words, like you wish.:D

You said to me in the past, that i should stop praising you:=)

I got the same Civ 4 gift on Steam too.It looks like it's a Steam "thing".

Since I'm here I'd like to add, THANK YOU! Even tho the way BNW isn't IGE friendly I do appreciate that it does the things I want it to do.

@Marfouq78
Then I do not understand. This is a computer, not a tablet? Did you check whether there were updates for your version?

Now could you open the following file in a text editor and show me the content around line 1244 please?
<civ5 binary folder>/Assets/UI/Ingame/WorldView/NotificationPanel.xml?

But I am afraid that Firaxis based their port on an old version of civ5. In such a case I won't be able to help since I do not own a mac to look for specific differences. I know it works with the Steam version on mac, though.

@XplorR
Thank you for the clarification. :)
I am surprised that there wasn't any communication about it but it's a good surprise.

I may have a bug to report: When setting a city that you create to be a puppet state in ICE, the city will not automate the production queue, it just stays empty. This is after save-loading.

Is it possible to change a whole continents' texture to e.g. the African one? Because actually it only seems possible to change it from one tile and it's quite time-consuming to change it for a whole continent.

@Makotech
Thank you, I am going to give it a look.

@Qarthadast
There is no such feature but you can paint many tiles at once and it does not matter if you change the art style of the ocean. To paint many tiles at once, check the tool tip on the pain panel's tab, I think it's shift + right click.
