Inside Gamer - new Interview with Jon Shafer, some new info!

ok but a more imp q: how fast will the game run in 1900AD, largest map, with i5cpu&4GB ram

every new civ game works slower than the previous even when u have a good new pc

Why does 1900AD matter? By then I've already finished the game, or only have a couple cities left to crush. ;)

u're not trying to understand but i still will reply.

i finish before 1900 sometimes as well. but you, me, he is not the case.
the company should think for every gamer. and most of the copies sold will be to the less-xp guys. after 1900AD huge map games slow dramatically.

and as civ5 will be a new game, at he beginning most guys will be less-XPed.

I did understand, and unfortunately cultural differences usually eliminate humour in comments. So I apologise.

I'm pretty sure that we will experience some slow down in the later phase of the game. However one thing to remember is that the devs have stated their minimum spec goal is a dual-core processor, 1 GB RAM, with directx9 256 MG graphics card. That's not that bad for a modern game, it's much MUCH lower than a lot of new games coming out. But just due to the amount of graphic changes (improvements, roads, cities etc) on the map and the number of units and events in the game, we will definitely experience a slow down in play near the end. It's inevitable with this type of game.

ok no problem.
i heard that as well: 1GB min and 2GB recommended.
but i doubt it will work fast in 4GB. maybe i should just accept the consequences and start playing on std map, as i did on my last game.

anyway, back to topic, i am not satisfied with all the news but still i am optimistic on the game. waiting for new interviews/demo plays...
and one more thing; is the game on schedule? fall 2010 really?
