I think I read that EA owns the AC name.
It doesn't seem like an AC sequel anyway. Not that I played AC for more than a few hours,but this game seems to be taken place on a single planet, unless I'm mistaken, and as Kyriakos just wrote, practically seems to be a very modified version of civ5. If you can call it that any more..
I think this game seems like a great set up for a proper spiritual sequel to AC. It would be a potential bridge where you could play from the start of the ordinary civ5, through BE and to the AC sequel.
