Just remembered reading about DX on the Mac some time ago. Couldn't quite believe it then, but I found the hp of a company that's ported DX or part of it at least.
Wow! And I always thought my neighbor's dog would be on the dumber side of the gene-pool...Originally posted by Brad Oliver
Two things:
1. Everyone and their dog has reversed-engineered DirectX (and for that matter most of the Win32 API) to the Mac.
The point of my previous post was that the porting of DirectX can and has been done, if somewhat incomplete in certain areas as you mentioned. The link I posted was just the first one, that popped up on google. ^^''
Way too many Westlake titles use our implementation. DirectX itself is no barrier, ...
2. The Coderus DirectX implementation does not support Mac<->PC DirectPlay. In fact, I don't know of any DX implementations that do.
... which is not gonna happen 'til the heat-death of our beloved multiverse.
... and the process of porting games is not going to get significantly faster than it is now unless we all move to x86 boxes.![]()

So the chances for the "Wright One's" to get C3C are not so good I would say.
No offense taken.Originally posted by Brad Oliver
Yes, sorry. I didn't mean to sound like I was picking on you. You just happened to have the most recent post on the topic and it gave me a good place to interject.
