Personally I prefer Giant Radioactive Monkeys cuz they rock...but not as much as penguins:lol:

I don't mind either way, but I'm throwing in a sympathy vote with Mac users. Rar/zip.

RAR/ZIP, preferabbly RAR. Not only so Mac users can get it, but I don't trust .exe files all the time.

Err... what's the difference ?

.exe --> double click -> select path -> click on button
Total: 3 clicks + path
.rar/zip --> right click -> click on unzip to ... -> select path -> click on button
Total: 3 clicks + path

So there is no way to preserve/use up calories with this.

But, for the mac users, i voted zip/rar

A good installer can auto-detect the path by locating the c3c exe file, so that's less clicks, and more fool-proof ;) It's really more about the users that have no idea how civ3 mods work, what are the correct paths etc. - in such cases manual install often does not mean 3 clicks but days of attempts and forum posts... especially with things like Net Art folder (was not-so-good idea after all, I guess) and later patches. People who post here are mostly those that are into modding one way or another, keep that in mind ;) Note how simple mistake like "Extract here" vs "Extract to foldername" can mess up things and it's not so obvious if you don't know where should a .biq file go.

All right, to be serious, I much rather prefer rar/zip because I don't programs doing stuff that I don't know about and I don't trust some of those installers.

I can't stand installers. I always end up installing it myself anyway:p

You too, eh? I personally find most of the "automated" self-extracting files generated by WinRAR or WinZIP tend to be a serious pain in the butt, not the LEAST of the reasons for that being that I usually install certain heavily modded games to the main drive (i.e. C:\Civ 3\ as opposed to C:\Infogrames Interactive\Civ 3\), and since those self-extractors are almost universally directory-specific, anyone who has a slightly different version of the game (i.e. I bought Vanilla Civ III in 2001, so it is located in C:\Infogrames Interactive\, rather than C:\Atari\, and someone who has the Civ Anthology would have an even different directory structure due to that being published by Take Two).

Therefore, I say that the simplest way is to just zip the scenario folder and the BIQ files and then I can just unzip them into whatever folder applies.

Automated installer. I downloaded the WH mod with that a long time ago, and that's the only way I really could have played it. I had no computer experience, and would have been clueless. Plus, the automated installer is smaller than both rar and zip.
